Today is Qin Run&#8217;s turn to tie the Dharma affinity with everyone. If what I say is not in accordance with Dharma, please kindly correct me.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5f1f\u5b50\u4eca\u5929\u8981\u8b1b\u7684\u5167\u5bb9\uff0c\u662f\u570d\u7e5e\u8457\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u5730\u9ede\u800c\u505a\u7684\u4e00\u9ede\u529f\u8ab2\u3002\u8d77\u56e0\u662f\u4e4b\u524d\u8207\u53e6\u4e00\u4f4d\u4f5b\u53cb\u7684\u5c0d\u8a71\u3002\u9019\u4f4d\u4f5b\u53cb\u4f4f\u5728\u96e2\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5206\u652f\u9053\u5834\u4e0d\u9060\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u53ea\u662f\u5076\u723e\u624d\u4f86\u9053\u5834\u53c3\u52a0\u6cd5\u6703\u3002\u6211\u60f3\u9f13\u52f5\u5979\u53ef\u4ee5\u7d93\u5e38\u4f86\u9053\u5834\u4e00\u8d77\u4fee\u884c\uff0c\u56e0\u70ba\u6211\u8a8d\u70ba\u89aa\u81ea\u4f86\u9053\u5834\u8ddf\u81ea\u5df1\u5728\u5bb6\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u6548\u679c\u80af\u5b9a\u662f\u5929\u58e4\u4e4b\u5225\uff0c\u65e2\u7136\u6709\u798f\u5831\u53ef\u4ee5\u4f4f\u5728\u9053\u5834\u9644\u8fd1\uff0c\u70ba\u4f55\u4e0d\u5229\u7528\u9019\u500b\u512a\u52e2\u4f86\u9053\u5834\u4fee\u884c\u5462\uff1f<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tonight&#8217;s topic is about the best places for cultivators with reference to sutras with Venerable Master&#8217;s commentary. I was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend of mine. She lived very close to one of DRBA&#8217;s branches. However, she only occasionally came to our branch to join Dharma events. So I tried to encourage her to come to our branch more often, because I believe that, there is a huge difference between cultivating at home and at the temple. Since she already has the blessings to live close to temple, why not taking this opportunity to come to cultivate in person in the temple?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5979\u7684\u56de\u7b54\u662f\uff1a\u6211\u5728\u5bb6\u88e1\u4f48\u7f6e\u4e86\u5f88\u6e05\u6de8\u7684\u4f5b\u5802\uff0c\u88e1\u9762\u4e5f\u4f9b\u5949\u4e86\u4f5b\u50cf\uff0c\u6bcf\u5929\u53ef\u4ee5\u4e0d\u51fa\u5bb6\u9580\u5c31\u79ae\u4f5b\u8aa6\u7d93\u3002\u5982\u679c\u6709\u5927\u6cd5\u6703\u7684\u8a71\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u9023\u63a5\u5230<\/strong><strong>Zoom<\/strong><strong>\u5728\u5bb6\u88e1\u53c3\u52a0\uff0c\u4e0d\u7528\u8ddf\u5176\u4ed6\u5c45\u58eb\u64e0\u5728\u4e00\u8d77\uff0c\u800c\u4e14\u5bb6\u88e1\u6709\u7a7a\u8abf\u5439\uff0c\u62dc\u4f5b\u7684\u6642\u5019\u6703\u5f88\u8212\u670d\u5462\uff01<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She answered that, \u201cI set up my own Buddha hall in my house which is very clean and adorned with Buddha&#8217;s statue. Without leaving my home, I can bow to Buddha and recite sutras. If there is an important Dharma event in CTTB, I can easily connect to Zoom and participate. It&#8217;s more comfortable and convenient at home with air conditioning, and avoid the crowd.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5f1f\u5b50\u611a\u920d\uff0c\u7576\u6642\u807d\u4e86\u5979\u7684\u7406\u7531\uff0c\u4e00\u6642\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u5982\u4f55\u53cd\u99c1\uff0c\u89ba\u5f97\u597d\u50cf\u4e5f\u883b\u6709\u9053\u7406\u7684\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u5fc3\u88e1\u9084\u662f\u89ba\u5f97\u4f86\u5edf\u4e0a\u8207\u5927\u773e\u4e00\u8d77\u5171\u4fee\u662f\u6700\u597d\u7684\u3002\u76f4\u5230\u6700\u8fd1\u5728\u4ed4\u7d30\u7814\u8b80\u300a\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u56e0\u679c\u7d93\u300b\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u624d\u767c\u73fe\u539f\u4f86\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u65e9\u5df2\u7d66\u4e86\u7b54\u6848\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I couldn&#8217;t refute to her reasoning at that time due to my limited wisdom, and thought that her reasonings were kind of making sense. However, deep in my mind, I still believe that cultivating with Dharma assembly in Buddha hall is the best thing to do. Not until recently did I find the proper answer. Chan Master Zhi Gong has already provided the answer to the same question for Emperor Wu of Liang, in the <em>Sutra of Chan Master Zhi Gong\u2018s Explanation on the Cause and Retribution.<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5728\u7d93\u6587\u4e2d\u6709\u4e00\u6bb5\u6881\u6b66\u5e1d\u8207\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u7684\u554f\u7b54\u5167\u5bb9\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6881\u6b66\u5e1d\u5c31\u554f<\/strong><strong>\u8a8c<\/strong><strong>\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u6cd5\u5e2b\u5440\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u8aa6\u7d93\u80fd\u4e0d\u80fd\u7a4d\u7d2f\u529f\u5fb7\u5440\uff1f\u80fd\u7a2e\u798f\u7530\u55ce\uff1f\u300d\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u56de\u7b54\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u5ff5\u7d93\u529f\u5fb7\u4e0d\u53ef\u601d\u8b70\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u4f46\u662f\u6839\u64da\u5ff5\u7d93\u7684\u65b9\u5f0f\u4e0d\u540c\uff0c<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u5206\u70ba\u4e0a\u4e2d\u4e0b\u4e09\u7b49\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Sutra, one of the questions that Emperor Wu of Liang asked Chan Master Venerable Zhi was: \u201cHow is the merit and virtue generated from reciting sutra, and how is the field of blessing from reciting sutra?\u201d Chan Master Venerable Zhi answered, \u201cThe merit and virtue generated from reciting sutra is incredible. However, depending on the ways that people recite sutra. The merit and virtue they generate may fall into three levels: upper level, middle level and lower level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6881\u6b66\u5e1d\u5c31\u554f\u4e86\uff1a\u300c\u6cd5\u5e2b\u5440\uff0c\u60a8\u4e00\u76f4\u6559\u5c0e\u6211\u5011\u4f5b\u6cd5\u5e73\u7b49\uff0c\u7121\u6709\u9ad8\u4e0b\u3002\u70ba\u4f55\u60a8\u53c8\u8aaa\u9084\u5206\u70ba\u4e0a\u4e2d\u4e0b\u4e09\u7b49\u5462<\/strong><strong> ? <\/strong><strong>\u8acb\u60a8\u5e6b\u6211\u5011\u958b\u793a\u3002\u300d\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u56de\u7b54\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u4f5b\u6cd5\u96d6\u7136\u5e73\u7b49\uff0c\u4f5c\u798f\u537b\u6709\u4e0a\u4e2d\u4e0b\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u70ba\u4ec0\u9ebc\u5462\uff1f<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u82e5\u4eba\u5ef6\u50e7\u5230\u4fd7\u5bb6\u8aa6\u7d93\u8005\u70ba\u4e0b\u54c1\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u610f\u601d\u662f\u5982\u679c\u6709\u4eba\u5ef6\u8acb\u50e7\u4eba\u5230\u5c45\u58eb\u5bb6\u88e1\u8aa6\u7d93<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\uff0c\u662f\u70ba\u4e0b\u54c1\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Emperor Wu asked, \u201cMaster, you have always taught us that all Dharmas are equal. Why did you say that the merit and virtue generated from reciting sutra may fall into upper level, middle level, and lower level? Please advise.\u201d Chan Master Zhi Gong answered, \u201calthough all dharmas are equal, the blessings people generate may differ by their ways of reciting sutra. Why? If a layperson invited a dharma master to recite sutra in the layperson\u2019s home, the blessings fall into the lower level.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u7b2c\u4e8c\u7a2e\u662f\uff1a\u82e5\u4eba\u5c71\u9593\u91ce\u5730\u505a\u500b\u4f9b\u5bee\u7948\u798f\u8005\u70ba\u4e2d\u54c1<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u3002\u4e5f\u5c31\u662f\u8aaa\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u5728\u5c71\u9593\u91ce\u5730\u5efa\u9020\u4e00\u500b\u4f9b\u5bee\u7948\u798f\uff0c\u70ba\u4e2d\u54c1\u3002<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a layperson went to find a place in the mountains or wild field and build an offering shelter, the blessings from their prayers fall into the middle level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u4e0a\u54c1\u662f\uff1a\u82e5\u5f80\u5c71\u9580\u4e2d\u4f5c\u798f\u8aa6\u7d93\u8005\u70ba\u4e0a\u7b49\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6240\u4ee5\u5728\u5bb6\u70ba\u6c61\u5730\uff0c<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u5c71\u9593\u540d\u6de8\u571f\uff0c<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u4f46\u51e1\u5c6c\u5eb5\u5802\u5bfa\u89c0\uff0c\u4e43\u4f3d\u85cd\u6de8\u5730<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\uff0c\u8af8\u4f5b\u795e\u7947\uff0c\u5e38\u4f4f\u4e0d\u96e2\uff0c<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u662f\u6545\u70ba\u4e0a\u4e5f\u3002<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If they come to a way place inside the mountain gate to recite the sutra, the blessings they generate will fall into the upper level. The reasons are: the laity&#8217;s home is a contaminated place; the mountains and wild fields are pure places.&nbsp; Any place that belongs to monasteries or temples is a pure land of Sangharama (monastic sanctuary) guarded by all the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. That&#8217;s the place where Buddhas and Gods reside and never leave. So the blessings they generate in Sangha are the best.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u7531\u6b64\u53ef\u898b\uff0c\u540c\u6a23\u662f\u8aa6\u7d93\u6216\u8005\u53c3\u52a0\u6cd5\u6703\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u4f86\u5230\u9053\u5834\uff08\u8a3b\uff1a\u9808\u70ba\u6e05\u6de8\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u6b63\u6cd5\u9053\u5834\uff09\uff0c\u7372\u5f97\u7684\u798f\u5831\uff0c\u8ddf\u5728\u5bb6\u81ea\u5df1\u7528\u529f\uff0c<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6216\u8005\u9023\u7dda<\/strong><strong>Zoom<\/strong><strong>\u9060\u7aef\u53c3\u52a0\uff0c\u6240\u7372\u5f97\u7684\u798f\u5831\u662f\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the sutra we can see that, if we recite the same sutra or attend the same Dharma event, the blessings we receive will differ from the locations we choose&#8212;either in a way place (Note: It must be a place of pure practice and true Dharma), or at home, or connect from Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u773e\u6240\u5468\u77e5\uff0c\u5f9e<\/strong><strong>2019<\/strong><strong>\u5e74\u5e95\u958b\u59cb\u7684\u75ab\u60c5\uff0c\u6301\u7e8c\u5ef6\u5b95\u4e86\u4e09\u5e74\uff0c\u8a31\u591a\u4eba\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u7fd2\u6163\u548c\u89c0\u5ff5\u4e5f\u6084\u6084\u767c\u751f\u4e86\u8b8a\u5316\u3002\u4f8b\u5982\u5f9e\u50b3\u7d71\u7684\u6bcf\u5929\u53bb\u516c\u53f8\u4e0a\u73ed\uff0c\u5230\u73fe\u5728\u53ef\u4ee5\u9060\u8ddd\u8fa6\u516c\uff0c\u751f\u6d3b\u5fc5\u9700\u54c1\u4e5f\u53ef\u4ee5\u900f\u904e\u7db2\u8def\u8a02\u8cfc\uff1b\u5927\u5bb6\u66f4\u4f9d\u8cf4\u7db2\u8def\u8b93\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u548c\u5de5\u4f5c\u66f4\u52a0\u4fbf\u5229\uff0c\u751a\u81f3\u4e0d\u5fc5\u8e0f\u51fa\u5927\u9580\u4e00\u6b65\u5c31\u53ef\u4ee5\u89e3\u6c7a\u6240\u6709\u7684\u554f\u984c\uff1b<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we all notice that the pandemic has been affecting everyone for more than three years since the end of 2019. People&#8217;s living habits and their perspectives on the world change along with it. For example, many people are able to work remotely from home now instead of commuting to office each day. All the necessities and food can be delivered to their door from online. Thanks to the connected world by internet, they can enjoy a much easier and convenient way to live and work, and are more dependent on the internet to solve all the problems without even stepping out of their door.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u4eba\u8207\u4eba\u4e4b\u9593\u7684\u4ea4\u6d41\u8207\u6e9d\u901a\uff0c\u4e5f\u5f9e\u9762\u5c0d\u9762\u7684\u63a5\u89f8\uff0c\u8b8a\u6210\u9060\u8ddd\u96e2\u7684\u6e9d\u901a\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u6709\u4e9b\u4eba\u4e5f\u7fd2\u6163\u6027\u5730\u628a\u75ab\u60c5\u5f8c\u7684\u4e16\u9593\u6cd5\u4e5f\u7528\u65bc\u4fee\u884c\u3002\u53ef\u662f\u4e16\u9593\u6cd5\u8b1b\u7a76\u7684\u662f\u7528\u6700\u5c11\u7684\u6210\u672c\u9054\u5230\u6700\u5927\u7684\u5229\u76ca\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u7db2\u8def\u7684\u65b9\u4fbf\u5feb\u901f\u81ea\u7136\u6703\u6210\u70ba\u5927\u5bb6\u7684\u9996\u9078\u3002\u800c\u4fee\u884c\u537b\u5728\u65bc\u4e00\u9846\u771f\u5fc3\u3002\u6b63\u5982\u5370\u5149\u5927\u5e2b\u6240\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6709\u4e00\u5206\u606d\u656c\uff0c\u5247\u6d88\u4e00\u5206\u7f6a\u696d\uff0c\u589e\u4e00\u5206\u798f\u5831\uff1b<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6709\u5341\u5206\u606d\u656c\uff0c\u5247\u6d88\u5341\u5206\u7f6a\u696d\uff0c\u589e\u5341\u5206\u798f\u5831\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Communication between people has shifted from face-to-face interactions to remote communications. Some people have habitually applied post-pandemic worldly methods to their spiritual practice. However, worldly methods aim to achieve maximum benefit at minimal cost, so the convenience and speed of the internet naturally become everyone&#8217;s first choice. But true practice lies in a sincere heart. As Master Yinguang said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>With one part of reverence, one part of sin is eliminated, and one part of merit is gained; with ten parts of reverence, ten parts of sin are eliminated, and ten parts of merit are gained.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5373\u4fbf\u5982\u6b64\uff0c\u80fd\u5920\u4f4f\u5728\u6cd5\u7e3d\u9053\u5834\u9644\u8fd1\u7684\u5f1f\u5b50\u7562\u7adf\u9084\u662f\u5c11\u6578\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u5f1f\u5b50\u8a8d\u70ba\uff0c\u6709\u5728\u4fee\u884c\u7e3d\u6bd4\u6c92\u6709\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u597d\uff0c\u5148\u6c42\u6709\uff0c\u518d\u6c42\u597d\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u5f1f\u5b50\u53c8\u627e\u5230\u4e86\u4f5b\u7d93\u4e2d\u6559\u7d66\u83e9\u85a9\u4fee\u884c\u9078\u64c7\u7684\u5730\u9ede\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u4f9b\u6211\u5011\u501f\u93e1\u3002\u5c31\u662f\u5728\u300a\u5999\u6cd5\u84ee\u83ef\u7d93<\/strong><strong>\u00b7<\/strong><strong>\u5b89\u6a02\u884c\u54c1\u300b\u88e1\uff0c\u6240\u8aaa\u7684\u56db\u7a2e\u5b89\u6a02\u884c\u4e2d\u7684\u8eab\u5b89\u6a02\u884c\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even so, there are still few disciples who can live near the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association, but I believe that some practice is better than no practice at all; first strive to have it, then strive for excellence. So, I found the recommendations on location for Bodhisattvas&#8217; practice in the sutra, which can serve as our reference. It is mentioned in the <em>Lotus <\/em><em>Sutra<\/em>, Chapter on Practices of Peace and Joy, about the bodily practice of the four types of Practices of Peace and Joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u7c21\u800c\u8a00\u4e4b\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u83e9\u85a9\u8981\u8eab\u7576\u9060\u96e2\u5341\u7a2e\u4e8b\uff0c\u624d\u80fd\u5f97\u5e38\u597d\u5750\u79aa\uff0c\u4fee\u651d\u5176\u5fc3\uff0c\u6545\u540d\u8eab\u5b89\u6a02\u884c\u3002\u4e0a\u4eba\u89e3\u91cb\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u4e91\u4f55\u540d\u83e9\u85a9\u6469\u8a36\u85a9\u89aa\u8fd1\u8655\uff1a\u4ec0\u9ebc\u662f\u5927\u83e9\u85a9\u6240\u8a72\u89aa\u8fd1\u7684\u5462\uff1f\u89aa\u8fd1\uff0c\u4e5f\u5c31\u662f\u63a5\u8fd1\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u96e2\u5f97\u4e0d\u9060\u3001\u5f88\u76f8\u8fd1\u7684\u3002\u300d\u8981\u89aa\u8fd1\u4fee\u651d\u5176\u5fc3\uff0c\u90a3\u9ebc\u8981\u9060\u96e2\u54ea\u5341\u7a2e\u4e8b\uff1f<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In short, Bodhisattvas must keep their bodies away from ten things to achieve the constant good practice of meditation and collect their minds, hence the name bodily easy practice. Master Hua explained, what is meant by the close place of the Great Bodhisattva: what should the Great Bodhisattva be close to? Close means near, not far, and very close. Bodhisattvas must be close to \u201ccollecting their minds.\u201d Then what are the ten things they must keep their bodies away? I was fortunate to be allowed to move into CTTB in June of 2020 after CTTB was closed to public due to pandemic. I volunteered to teach in the girls\u2019 school. It has been four years since then, and I take everything for granted, for example, joining Dharma events. It takes only one minute\u2019s walk from Bodhi House to Buddha Hall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u4f46\u662f\u7576\u5f1f\u5b50\u770b\u5230\uff0c\u4eca\u5e74<\/strong><strong>7<\/strong><strong>\u6708\u5831\u540d\u53c3\u52a0\u5728\u5bb6\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u7684\u6212\u5b50\u5011\uff0c\u5f88\u591a\u662f\u9060\u9053\u5f9e\u6b50\u6d32\u3001\u4e9e\u6d32\u3001\u6fb3\u6d32\u9577\u9014\u8dcb\u6d89\uff0c\u6b77\u76e1\u5404\u7a2e\u5343\u8f9b\u842c\u82e6\u3001\u586b\u4e86\u4e0d\u77e5\u591a\u5c11\u6587\u4ef6\u624d\u5f97\u4ee5\u4f86\u5230\u8056\u57ce\u53c3\u52a0\u50b3\u6212\u5100\u5f0f\uff08\u6709\u4e9b\u4eba\u9084\u62ff\u4e0d\u5230\u7c3d\u8b49\uff09\u3002\u4ed6\u5011\u53ef\u80fd\u525b\u4e0b\u98db\u6a5f\uff0c\u9084\u5728\u5012\u6642\u5dee\uff0c\u5c31\u8981\u99ac\u4e0a\u958b\u59cb\u7dca\u5f35\u7684\u5b78\u7fd2\u6212\u5f8b\u7684\u8ab2\u7a0b\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u81c9\u4e0a\u96d6\u7136\u7565\u986f\u75b2\u618a\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u773c\u775b<\/strong><strong>\u88e1\u537b\u9583\u52d5\u8457\u7d42\u65bc\u9081\u9032\u8056\u57ce\u5c71\u9580\u5f8c\u7684\u6eff\u8db3\u8207\u8208\u596e\u7684\u795e\u60c5\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, when I attended the precept classes and ceremony of Bodhisattva Precepts this past July, I noticed that many preceptees have come all the away from Europe, Asia, and Australia. I believe that they must have filled out numerous documents and overcome various difficulties, before they could finally step into CTTB and attend the ceremony (a lot of our disciples even couldn&#8217;t get a visa to come here).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Many of them just got off the plane and tried to adjust to the jet lag. Without any delay, they had to start to take precept classes. Although they looked very tired, their eyes had sparkles of excitement and satisfaction, that they finally were able to step into the mountain gate of CTTB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u672b\u5b78\u5fc3\u88e1\u611f\u89ba\u5341\u5206\u615a\u6127\uff0c<\/strong><strong>\u56e0\u70ba\u6211\u89ba\u5f97\u81ea\u5df1\u6c92\u6709\u597d\u597d\u73cd\u60dc<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u5728\u8056\u57ce\u7684\u6bcf\u4e00\u5929\u7684\u4fee\u884c\u6642\u9593<\/strong><strong>\u3002\u4f46\u662f\u4e5f\u53d7\u5230\u4e86\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u611f\u67d3\uff0c\u6253\u8d77\u7cbe\u795e\uff0c\u8ddf\u4ed6\u5011\u4e00\u8d77\u8654\u8aa0\u8a8d\u771f\u5730\u53c3\u52a0\u6240\u6709\u7684\u8ab2\u7a0b\u548c\u6cd5\u6703\uff0c\u73cd\u60dc\u5728\u8056\u57ce\u53c3\u52a0\u6cd5\u6703\u3001\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u6bcf\u4e00\u500b\u6a5f\u6703\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I felt very ashamed of myself for being sloppy when I saw their diligence. So I struck up my spirits to attend all the precept classes and ceremonies vigorously, and really cherished every opportunity to cultivate in CTTB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6211\u7684\u611f\u60f3\u5c31\u662f\uff1a\u6211\u5011\u5c0d\u81ea\u5df1\u64c1\u6709\u7684\u5065\u5eb7\u548c\u6642\u9593\uff0c\u90fd\u662f\u60f3\u7576\u7136\u7684\uff0c\u8a8d\u70ba\u4ed6\u5011\u90fd\u4e00\u76f4\u6703\u5728\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u4e8b\u5be6\u662f\uff0c\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u4ec0\u9ebc\u6642\u5019\u5c31\u6703\u9060\u96e2\u6211\u5011\u3002<\/strong><strong> \u8056<\/strong><strong>\u57ce\u5c31\u50cf\u662f\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5927\u5bb6\u5ead\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u6709\u6a5f\u6703\u7559\u5728\u9019\u88e1\uff0c\u771f\u7684\u9700\u8981\u73cd\u60dc\u5728\u9019\u88e1\u4fee\u884c\u7684\u6bcf\u4e00\u5929\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">My reflections are that, we take our health and lifetime for granted, assuming they\u2019ll always be there, but we never know when they might leave us. CTTB community is like our family, and when we have the chance to stay here, we really need to cherish the opportunity to cultivate here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u300a\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u56e0\u679c\u7d93\u300b\u88e1\u9084\u6709\u4e00\u6bb5\u7d93\u6587\uff1a\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u6614\u6709\u4e09\u500b\u4eba\u6b32\u5ea6\u5927\u6d77\uff0c\u8981\u904e\u6d77\u6771\u3002\u6709\u4e00\u5927\u667a\u58eb\uff0c\u5c31\u9020\u4e00\u8258\u8239\uff0c\u800c\u6e21\u6d77\u53bb\uff1b\u53c8\u6709\u4e00\u4eba\uff0c\u7528\u4e00\u5927\u725b\uff0c\u62fd\u4f4f\u725b\u5c3e\uff0c\u4ea6\u6e21\u6d77\u53bb\uff1b\u53c8\u6709\u4e00\u4eba\uff0c\u4e0d\u9020\u8239\uff0c\u4e0d\u7528\u725b\uff0c\u53ea\u7528\u4e00\u8c6c\uff0c\u62fd\u4f4f\u8c6c\u5c3e\uff0c\u4ea6\u6b32\u6e21\u6d77\uff0c\u5176\u8c6c\u7109\u80fd\u6e21\u5f97\u6d77\uff0c\u9023\u4eba\u62fd\u4e0b\u6d77\u5e95\uff0c\u53cd\u60f9\u5927\u7b11\u96e3\u7576\u3002\u6b64\u55bb\u4e0a\u4e2d\u4e0b\u4e09\u7b49\uff0c\u512a\u52a3\u4e0d\u540c\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6c42\u798f\u8981\u64c7\u6212\u884c\u50e7\u4eba\u3002\u82e5\u4e0d\u4f9d\u6b64\uff0c\u751a\u70ba\u8ff7\u60d1\uff0c\u5982\u5922\u8aaa\u5922\u4e5f\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the <em>Sutra of Chan Master Zhi Gong\u2019s explanation on the Cause and Retribution,<\/em> there is a passage reads: \u201cOnce there were three men who wanted to cross the sea to the east. A wise man built a ship and crossed the sea; another person found a big ox. By holding the ox&#8217;s tail, he also crossed the sea (with help from the ox); another person, without building a ship or using an ox, merely held a pig\u2019s tail, trying to cross the sea. How could the pig swim cross the sea? The pig dragged the man to the bottom of the sea in the end, causing great laughter. This metaphor describes the three levels of cultivation, leading to respective results. Therefore, to seek blessings, one must find monks who uphold the precepts seriously. If one does not follow this, it is very confusing, like telling a dream within a dream.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6211\u89ba\u5f97\u9019\u4e00\u6bb5\u5f88\u7c21\u77ed\uff0c\u597d\u50cf\u5f88\u5bb9\u6613\u7406\u89e3\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u6211\u5c31\u8b80\u4e86\u5f88\u591a\u904d\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u60f3\u5728\u6b64\u8ddf\u5927\u5bb6\u5206\u4eab\u4e00\u4e0b\u3002\u5c31\u662f\u8aaa\uff0c\u6709\u4e09\u500b\u4eba\u60f3\u8981\u7a7f\u8d8a\u6d77\u6d0b\uff0c\u5176\u4e2d\u4e00\u500b\u4eba\u6709\u5049\u5927\u7684\u667a\u6167\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u9019\u500b\u4eba\u6703\u5efa\u9020\u4e00\u8258\u5927\u8239\uff0c\u7136\u5f8c\u7a7f\u8d8a\u6d77\u6d0b\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u7b2c\u4e8c\u500b\u4eba\u627e\u5230<\/strong><strong>\u5927\u725b<\/strong><strong>\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u9019\u500b\u4eba\u6703<\/strong><strong>\u62fd\u4f4f<\/strong><strong>\u5927\u725b\u7684\u5c3e\u5df4\uff0c\u4e5f\u6703\u7a7f\u8d8a\u6d77\u6d0b\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u7b2c\u4e09\u500b\u4eba\u6c92\u6709\u5efa\u9020\u8239\uff0c\u6c92\u6709\u627e\u5230\u5927\u725b\uff0c\u4ed6\u53ea\u627e\u5230\u4e00\u96bb\u8c6c\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u7b2c\u4e09\u500b\u4eba\u6703<\/strong><strong>\u62fd\u4f4f<\/strong><strong>\u8c6c\u7684\u5c3e\u5df4\uff0c\u4e5f\u60f3\u8981\u7a7f\u8d8a\u6d77\u6d0b\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u90fd\u77e5\u9053\u8c6c\u4e0d\u53ef\u4ee5\u7a7f\u8d8a\u6d77\u6d0b\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u9019\u500b\u4eba\u6703\u628a\u8c6c\u62c9\u5230\u6d77\u5e95\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6240\u4ee5\u9019\u5c0d\u6bcf\u500b\u4eba\u90fd\u662f\u7b11\u8a71\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I find this passage short, and it seems easy to understand, but I read it many times. So I want to share it with everyone. It says that once upon a time, there are three people who want to cross the ocean. One of them has great wisdom, so he builds a large boat and crosses the ocean. The second person finds a big ox, so he holds onto the ox&#8217;s tail and crosses the ocean. The third person neither builds a boat nor finds an ox; he only finds a pig. So, the third person holds onto the pig&#8217;s tail, also wanting to cross the ocean. However, we all know that pigs can\u2019t cross the ocean, so this person drags the pig to the bottom of the sea. Hence, this becomes a joke for everyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u9019\u500b\u8aaa\u6cd5\u4ee3\u8868\u4e86\u4e09\u500b\u4fee\u884c\u8005\u7684\u5c64\u6b21\u3002\u7576\u6211\u5011\u60f3\u8981\u4fee\u884c\u6642\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5fc5\u9808\u9078\u64c7\u4e00\u500b\u56b4\u6301\u6212\u5f8b\u7684\u50e7\u773e\uff0c\u6709\u5049\u5927\u7684\u667a\u6167\u3002\u5982\u679c\u6c92\u6709\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5c31\u6703\u7e3d\u662f\u56f0\u60d1\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u5922\u4e2d\u7684\u5922\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u7b2c\u4e00<\/strong><strong>\u500b<\/strong><strong>\u4eba<\/strong><strong>\u9020\u4e86\u4e00\u8258\u5927\u8239\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5<\/strong><strong>\u5e36\u9818<\/strong><strong>\u5927\u5bb6\u4e00\u8d77\u6e21\u904e\u6d77\u53bb\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u7b2c\u4e8c\u500b\u4eba\u7528\u5927\u725b\uff0c\u4ed6\u96d6\u7136\u4e5f\u53ef\u4ee5\u6e21\u6d77\uff0c\u4f46\u4ed6\u53ea\u6e21\u4ed6\u81ea\u5df1\u4e00\u500b\u4eba\uff0c\u6211\u89ba\u5f97\u4ed6\u7684\u8b6c\u55bb\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u5c0f\u4e58\u4eba\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u81ea\u4e86\u6f22\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u7b2c\u4e09\u500b\u4eba\uff0c\u6211\u89ba\u5f97\u662f\u4ed6\u6b78\u4f9d\u4e86\u4e00\u4e9b\u90aa\u5e2b\u90aa\u6cd5\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6700\u5f8c\u53ef\u80fd\u8ddf\u8457\u90aa\u5e2b\u90aa\u6cd5\u4e5f\u6703\u4e00\u8d77\u58ae\u5230\u5730\u7344\u53bb\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u9019\u500b\u662f\u6211\u7684\u89e3\u91cb\uff0c\u6211\u4e0d\u592a\u77e5\u9053\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u4e0a\u4eba\u89e3\u91cb\u904e\u9019\u500b\u8b6c\u55bb\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u5f1f\u5b50\u81ea\u5df1\u6dfa\u986f\u7684\u7406\u89e3\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6211\u5f88\u63a8\u85a6<\/strong><strong>\u300a\u8a8c\u516c\u79aa\u5e2b\u56e0\u679c\u7d93\u300b<\/strong><strong>\u7d66\u4f60\u5011\u7684\u670b\u53cb\u3001\u540c\u5b78\uff0c\u6709\u4e00\u4e9b\u521d\u5b78\u4f5b\u6cd5\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u4ed6\u53ef\u4ee5\u4f86\u5148\u8b80\u9019\u672c\u7d93\uff0c\u975e\u5e38\u8584<\/strong><strong>\uff0c\u4e5f<\/strong><strong>\u5f88\u5bb9\u6613\u5730\u7406\u89e3\u3002\u6211\u8a8d\u70ba\u9019\u90e8\u7d93\u5c0d\u6211\u4f86\u8aaa\u975e\u5e38\u6709\u76ca\uff0c\u4f5c\u70ba\u4e00\u500b\u521d\u5b78\u8005\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u9078\u64c7\u4e86\u9019\u90e8\u7d93\u548c\u5927\u5bb6\u5206\u4eab\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6211\u4e5f\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u6cd5\u754c\u4f5b\u6559\u7e3d\u6703\u6709\u6c92\u6709\u8a08\u5283<\/strong><strong>\uff0c<\/strong><strong>\u53ef\u4ee5\u7ffb\u8b6f\u9019\u90e8\u7d93\u5178\u6210\u82f1\u6587\u3002\u56e0\u70ba\u6211\u89ba\u5f97\u5b83\u771f\u7684\u662f\u975e\u5e38\u597d\u7684\u4e00\u90e8\u7d93\u5178\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u671f\u5f85\u6cd5\u754c\u4f5b\u6559\u7e3d\u6703\u6709\u6a5f\u6703\u53ef\u4ee5\u51fa\u7248\u5b83\u7684\u82f1\u6587\u7248\u672c\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This statement represents the three levels of cultivators. When we seek blessings from cultivation, we must choose a monk with great wisdom and upholds precepts seriously. If not, we will always be confused, like telling a dream within a dream. The first person builds a boat to cross all sentient beings over the sea together. The second person used a big ox, and although he could also cross the sea, he only crossed it alone. I think his metaphor might refer to the hinayana followers, or those who seek only self-liberation. The third person, I believe, followed some heretical teachers or doctrines, and eventually, they would fall into hell together with these heretical teachers or doctrines. This is only my interpretation. I&#8217;m not sure if Venerable Master has ever explained this parable, but this is my humble understanding. I really recommend this sutra to your friends and classmates, especially those new to Buddhism. They can start by reading this sutra; it is very thin book and easy to understand. I think it is very beneficial to me as a new disciple. Therefore, I chose this sutra to share with everyone. I don&#8217;t know if the Dharma Realm Buddhist Association plans to translate this sutra into English, but I think it is a very good sutra.
