These stories are&nbsp;the records of dialogues between Chan masters, fellow masters and their disciples.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-01cca7506c84d9382c6ebff638be93ee wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#683030\"><strong>\u3016<\/strong><strong>\u6cd5\u773c\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u3017<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6cd5\u773c\u6587\u76ca\uff0c\u6d59\u6c5f\u9918\u676d\u4eba\uff0c\u4fd7\u59d3\u9b6f\uff0c\u662f\u6cd5\u773c\u5b97\u7684\u5275\u59cb\u4eba\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5e7c\u6642\u4fbf\u51fa\u5bb6\uff0c\u8ddf\u96a8\u5e0c\u89ba\u5f8b\u5e2b\u5b78\u6cd5\uff0c\u5f8c\u4f86\u55e3\u6cd5\u65bc\u7f85\u6f22\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\uff0c\u5f8c\u4f4f\u6301\u91d1\u9675\u6e05\u6dbc\u9662\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dharma Master <\/strong><strong>Wen Yi<\/strong><strong> of the Fa Yan School<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DM Wen Yi of Fa Yan, a native of Yu Hang, Zhejiang, with the last name \u201cLu,\u201d was the founder of the Fayan Chan school. He left the home life at a very young age and studied the Dharma under Vinaya Master Xi Jue (\u5e0c\u89ba). Later, he received the Dharma transmission from Chan Master Gui Chen and subsequently became the abbot of Qing Liang Monastery in Jin Ling (today\u2019s Nanjing).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u5230\u798f\u5dde\u53c3\u8b01\u9577\u6176\u6167\u68f1\u79aa\u5e2b\uff0c\u672a\u80fd\u5fb9\u5e95\u660e\u77ad\u3002\u5f8c\u4f86\uff0c\u4fbf\u548c\u7d39\u4fee\u6cd5\u5e2b\u3001\u6cd5\u9032\u6cd5\u5e2b\u4e09\u4eba\u6253\u7b97\u8d70\u51fa\u5dba\u5916\uff0c\u8def\u904e\u5730\u85cf\u9662\uff0c\u88ab\u5927\u96ea\u963b\u4f4f\u53bb\u8def\uff0c\u53ea\u5f97\u7a0d\u4f5c\u505c\u6b47\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DM Wen Yi traveled to Fuzhou to pay respects to Chan Master Hui Leng, but he was unable to fully comprehend the teachings. Later, he, along with DM Shao Xiu and DM Fa Jin, planned to travel down the mountains. However, they were stopped by heavy snow when passing by Earth Store Monastery and had no choice but to rest for a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u570d\u7210\u70e4\u706b\u6642\uff0c\u7f85\u6f22\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u4f60\u5011\u6253\u7b97\u5230\u54ea\u88e1\u53bb\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u884c\u8173\u53bb\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While sitting around the fire to warm themselves, Chan Master Gui Chen asked, &#8220;Where are you planning to go?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DM Wen Yi replied, &#8220;I am going on a pilgrimage.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u96ea\u505c\u4e4b\u5f8c\uff0c\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u524d\u4f86\u544a\u8fad\uff0c\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\u628a\u4ed6\u9001\u5230\u4e86\u5bfa\u9580\u53e3\uff0c\u8aaa\u9053\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4f60\u5e73\u6642\u5e38\u8aaa<\/strong><strong>\u300e<\/strong><strong>\u4e09\u754c\u7531\u5fc3\u751f\uff0c\u842c\u7269\u56e0\u8b58\u8d77\u3002\u300f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5c31\u6307\u8457\u9662\u4e2d\u7684\u4e00\u584a\u77f3\u982d\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4f60\u4e14\u8aaa\u8aaa\uff0c\u9019\u584a\u77f3\u982d\u662f\u5728\u5fc3\u5167\uff0c\u9084\u662f\u5728\u5fc3\u5916\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the snow stopped, DM Wen Yi came to bid farewell. Chan Master Gui Chen sent him off till the monastery gate and said, &#8220;You often say, &#8216;The three realms arise from the mind, and all things come into being through consciousness.'&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He then pointed to a stone in the courtyard and asked, &#8220;Tell me, is this stone inside or outside the mind?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u5728\u5fc3\u5167\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DM Wen Yi replied, &#8220;It is inside the mind.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4e00\u500b\u56db\u8655\u884c\u8173\u7684\u51fa\u5bb6\u4eba\uff0c\u70ba\u4ec0\u9ebc\u8981\u5728\u5fc3\u88e1\u982d\u5b89\u653e\u4e00\u584a\u5927\u77f3\u982d\u5462\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u88ab\u7a98\uff0c\u4e00\u6642\u8a9e\u585e\uff0c\u7121\u6cd5\u56de\u7b54\uff0c\u4fbf\u653e\u4e0b\u5305\u88f9\uff0c\u7559\u5728\u5730\u85cf\u9662\uff0c\u5411\u7f85\u6f22\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\u8acb\u6559\u96e3\u984c\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Gui Chen said, &#8220;As a wandering monk who roams from place to place\u2014why would he place a large stone inside his mind?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DM Wen Yi was embarrassed and rendered speechless, unable to answer. He then put down his bag and decided to stay at Earth Store Monastery, seeking Chan Master Gui Chen&#8217;s guidance and teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u4e00\u500b\u591a\u6708\u4e2d\uff0c\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u6bcf\u6b21\u5448\u4e0a\u5fc3\u5f97\uff0c\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\u90fd\u5c0d\u4ed6\u7684\u898b\u89e3\u4e88\u4ee5\u5426\u5b9a\u3002\u76f4\u5230\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u7406\u76e1\u8fad\u7aae\uff0c\u7f85\u6f22\u6842\u741b\u79aa\u5e2b\u624d\u544a\u8a34\u4ed6\uff1a\u300c\u82e5\u8ad6\u4f5b\u6cd5\uff0c\u4e00\u5207\u73fe\u6210\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u9019\u4e00\u53e5\u8a71\uff0c\u4f7f\u6587\u76ca\u6cd5\u5e2b\u604d\u7136\u5927\u609f\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For over a month, whenever DM Wen Yi presented his insights, Chan Master Gui Chen would always refute them. It wasn&#8217;t until DM Wen Yi had exhausted all his reasoning and could no longer respond that Chan Master Gui Chen finally told him, &#8220;As for the Dharma, everything is already complete.&#8221; These words enabled DM Wen Yi to obtain sudden enlightenment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u7b2c\u4e00\u7fa9<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6709\u4eba\u554f\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4ec0\u9ebc\u662f\u7b2c\u4e00\u7fa9\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6587\u76ca<\/strong><strong>\u6cd5\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u6211\u5982\u679c\u544a\u8a34\u4f60\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u7b2c\u4e8c\u7fa9\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Someone asked, &#8220;What is the ultimate truth?&#8221;<br>DM Wen Yi replied, &#8220;If I tell you, it will be the second truth.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-4f55f5befe1425a27e3c834d3d0d3a02 wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#642727\"><strong>\u3016<\/strong><strong>\u5357\u967d\u6167\u5fe0<\/strong><strong>\u3017<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5357\u967d\u6167\u5fe0<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u5728\u6167\u80fd\u7956\u5e2b\u8655\u5370\u8b49\u5f8c\uff0c\u5373\u5230\u5357\u967d\u7684\u767d\u5d16\u5c71\u4e0a\u5ea6\u904e\u4e86\u56db\u5341\u9918\u5e74\uff0c\u5f9e\u672a\u96e2\u904e\u5c71\u3002\u897f\u5143<\/strong><strong> 761 <\/strong><strong>\u5e74\uff0c\u5510\u8085\u5b97\u9080\u8acb\u4ed6\u5230\u4eac\u57ce\uff0c\u5c0a\u70ba\u570b\u5e2b\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dharma Master Hui Zhong of Nan Yang<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After Chan Master Hui Zhong of Nanyang received confirmation from Patriarch Hui Neng, he went to Mount Bai Ya in Nanyang, where he spent more than forty years without ever leaving the mountain. In the year 761, Emperor Su Zong invited him to the capital and honored him as the National Master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5728\u4e00\u6b21\u6cd5\u6703\u4e0a\uff0c\u8085\u5b97\u5e1d\u5411\u6167\u5fe0<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u554f\u4e86\u8a31\u591a\u554f\u984c\uff0c\u4ed6\u537b\u4e0d\u770b\u8085\u5b97\u7687\u5e1d\u4e00\u773c\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8085\u5b97\u5e1d\u5927\u6012\uff0c<\/strong><strong>\u8aaa<\/strong><strong>\u9053\uff1a\u300c\u7121\u8ad6\u5982\u4f55\uff0c\u6211\u662f\u5927\u5510\u7684\u5929\u5b50\uff0c\u4f60\u5c45\u7136\u4e0d\u770b\u6211\u4e00\u773c\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6167\u5fe0<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\uff1a\u300c\u7687\u4e0a\u53ef\u66fe\u770b\u5230\u865b\u7a7a\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8085\u5b97\u5e1d\uff1a\u300c\u770b\u5230\u4e86\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6167\u5fe0<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\uff1a\u300c\u90a3\u9ebc\u8acb\u554f\u865b\u7a7a\u53ef\u66fe\u5c0d\u4f60\u7728\u904e\u773c\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At a Dharma assembly, Emperor Su Zong asked him many questions, but he didn&#8217;t even glance at the emperor.<br>Emperor Su Zong became very angry and said, &#8220;No matter what, I am the Emperor of the Tang Dynasty. How dare you not even look at me?&#8221;<br>Chan Master Hui Zhong replied, &#8220;Your Majesty, have you ever seen empty space?&#8221;<br>The emperor said, &#8220;Yes.&#8221;<br>Chan Master Hui Zhong said, &#8220;Then, may I ask, has the empty space ever winked at you?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-f84dc497de00a4264de8fe76624e475b wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#693232\"><strong>\u3016<\/strong><strong>\u96f2\u9580\u6587\u5043<\/strong><strong>\u3017<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u96f2\u9580\u6587\u5043\u79aa\u5e2b\uff0c\u4fd7\u59d3\u5f35\uff0c\u6d59\u6c5f\u5609\u8208\u4eba\u3002\u4ed6\u5929\u8cc7\u654f\u6377\uff0c\u535a\u901a\u4f5b\u7d93\uff0c\u66fe\u53c3\u8b01\u7766\u5dde\u9053\u660e\u79aa\u5e2b\u800c\u5f97\u609f\u3002\u4e4b\u5f8c\uff0c\u6587\u5043\u79aa\u5e2b\u4e5f\u53c3\u62dc\u4e86\u96ea\u5cf0\u7fa9\u5b58\u79aa\u5e2b\u800c\u5951\u5408\u7384\u65e8\u3002\u65e5\u5f8c\u4f4f\u6301\u5ee3\u6771\u96f2\u9580\u5c71\uff0c\u5275\u5efa\u4e86\u8d6b\u8d6b\u6709\u540d\u7684\u96f2\u9580\u5b97\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dharma Master Wen Yan of Yun Men<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Wenyan, whose lay last name was Zhang, and he was from Jia Xing, Zhejiang. He was known for his intelligence and profound knowledge of the Buddhist sutras. He once visited Chan Master Dao Ming of Mu Zhou, where he attained enlightenment. Chan Master Wen Yan also paid a visit to Chan Master Yi Cun, where he realized the profound meaning of the teachings. Later, he became the abbot of Yun Men Mountain in Guangdong and established the well-known Yun Men Chan school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u96f2\u9580\u6587\u5043\u521d\u6b21\u53c3\u8b01\u7766\u5dde\u79aa\u5e2b\u6642\uff0c\u7766\u5dde\u79aa\u5e2b\u4e00\u770b\u898b\u6587\u5043\u79aa\u5e2b\u4f86\u4e86\uff0c\u5c31\u95dc\u4e0a\u9580\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u96f2\u9580\u6587\u5043\u6572\u9580\uff0c\u7766\u5dde\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u8ab0\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u7b54\uff1a\u300c\u6587\u5043\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u5e79\u4ec0\u9ebc\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u7b54\uff1a\u300c\u6211\u9084\u6c92\u6709\u609f\u898b\u81ea\u6027\uff0c\u8acb\u5e2b\u6307\u793a\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Chan Master Wen Yan first visited Chan Master Mu Zhou, Chan Master Mu Zhou immediately closed the door upon seeing him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Wen Yan knocked on the door, and Chan Master Mu Zhou asked, &#8220;Who is it?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He replied, &#8220;It&#8217;s Wenyan.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Mu Zhou asked, &#8220;What do you want?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Wen Yan replied, &#8220;I have not yet realized my true nature. On the third day, Chan Master Mu Zhou finally opened the door, and Chan Master Wen Yan quickly pushed his way inside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Mu Zhou grabbed him and said, &#8220;Speak quickly! Speak quickly!&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When Chan Master Wen Yan hesitated, Chan Master Mu Zhou pushed him out and slammed the door shut. The door caught Chan Master Yun Men&#8217;s foot, and in the unbearable pain of that moment, Chan Master Mu Zhou suddenly attained realization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6709\u4e00\u6b21\uff0c\u6587\u5043\u79aa\u5e2b\u554f\u50e7\u5f92\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u6211\u4e0d\u554f\u4f60\u5011\u5341\u4e94\u6708\u5713\u4ee5\u524d\u5982\u4f55\uff0c\u6211\u53ea\u554f\u5341\u4e94\u65e5\u4ee5\u5f8c\u5982\u4f55\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u50e7\u5f92\u7b54\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6587\u5043\u79aa\u5e2b\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u65e5\u65e5\u662f\u597d\u65e5\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5048\u66f0\uff1a<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6625\u6709\u767e\u82b1\u79cb\u6709\u6708\uff0c\u590f\u6709\u6dbc\u98a8\u51ac\u6709\u96ea\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u82e5\u7121\u9592\u4e8b\u639b\u5fc3\u982d\uff0c\u4fbf\u662f\u4eba\u9593\u597d\u6642\u7bc0\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One time, Chan Master Wenyan asked his monastic disciples, &#8220;I don&#8217;t ask how things are before the fifteenth day of the month; I will only ask, how are things after the fifteenth day?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The disciples replied, &#8220;We don&#8217;t know.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Wenyan said, &#8220;Every day is an auspicious day.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The verse goes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>There are hundred flowers in the Spring, there is the moon in the autumn,<br>There are cool breezes in the summer, and there is snow in the winter.<br>If there are no idle thoughts weighing on your mind,<br>Then every season is the best of times.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-3e05834368e8712eb7731cc62ddc3b6b wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#693030\"><strong>\u3016<\/strong><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u5f9e\u8ad7<\/strong><strong>\u3017<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u89c0\u97f3\u9662\u5f9e\u8ad7\u79aa\u5e2b\uff0c\u5357\u6cc9\u666e\u9662\u79aa\u5e2b\u6cd5\u55e3\uff0c\u4e16\u7a31<\/strong><strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong><strong>\uff0c\u9053\u884c\u9ad8\u6f54\uff0c\u6709<\/strong><strong>\u201c<\/strong><strong>\u53e4\u4f5b<\/strong><strong>\u201d<\/strong><strong>\u4e4b\u7a31\u3002\u5510\u4ee3\u66f9\u5dde\u4eba\uff0c\u4fd7\u59d3\u90dd\u3002\u5f9e\u5c0f\u51fa\u5bb6\uff0c\u672a\u53d7\u6212\u4fbf\u62b5\u9054\u6c60\u967d\uff0c\u53c3\u898b\u5357\u6cc9\u79aa\u5e2b\uff0c\u5f8c\u65bc\u8a00\u4e0b\u609f\u7406\uff0c\u4e43\u5f80\u5d69\u5c71\u7409\u7483\u58c7\u53d7\u5177\u8db3\u6212\uff0c\u4e4b\u5f8c\u53c8\u89aa\u8fd1\u5357\u6cc9\u79aa\u5e2b\u3002\u516b\u5341\u6b72\u5de6\u53f3\uff0c\u773e\u50e7\u8acb\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\u4f4f\u6301\u8d99\u5dde\u89c0\u97f3\u9662\uff0c\u4ed6\u4ee5\u6df1\u6e5b\u7684\u667a\u6167\uff0c\u6062\u8ae7\u5e7d\u9ed8\u7684\u8a9e\u8a00\uff0c\u5f15\u5c0e\u4e86\u4e00\u4ee3\u5b78\u4eba\u3002\u6cd5\u5e2b\u4e00\u767e\u4e8c\u5341\u6b72\u5713\u5bc2\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chan Master Cong Shen of Zhaozhou<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chan Master Cong Shen of the Guanyin Monastery of Zhao Zhou, a dharma heir of Chan Master Nan Quan Pu Yuan, was commonly known as &#8220;DM Zhaozhou.&#8221; He was renowned for his profound character and was referred to as an &#8220;Ancient Buddha.&#8221; A native of Cao Zhou, he was born into the Hao family. He left the home life at an early age and, before receiving ordination, traveled to Chi Yang to meet Chan Master Nan Quan. Under Chan Master Nan Quan&#8217;s teachings, he gained understanding of the principles and later went to Mount Song to receive the full ordination. He then continued to study under Chan Master Nan Quan. Around the age of eighty, the monks requested that DM Zhaozhou become the abbot of the Guanyin Monastery in Zhaozhou. With his deep and profound wisdom, he used humorous words to guide a whole generation of students. He entered nirvana at the age of 120.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5e73\u5e38\u5fc3\u662f\u9053<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\u554f\u5357\u6cc9\u79aa\u5e2b\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4ec0\u9ebc\u662f\u9053\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5357\u6cc9\u79aa\u5e2b\u56de\u7b54\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u5e73\u5e38\u5fc3\u662f\u9053\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u662f\u5426\u6709\u76ee\u6a19\u53ef\u5faa\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5357\u6cc9\u79aa\u5e2b\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u6709\u76ee\u6a19\u5c31\u932f\u4e86\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u6c92\u6709\u76ee\u6a19\u53ef\u5faa\uff0c\u53c8\u600e\u9ebc\u77e5\u9053\u662f\u9053\u5462\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5357\u6cc9\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u9053\u4e0d\u5c6c\u65bc\u77e5\u7684\u7bc4\u7587\u3002\u77e5\u662f\u4e00\u7a2e\u5984\u89ba\uff0c\u4e0d\u77e5\u5247\u662f\u6c92\u6709\u667a\u6167\u3002\u5f97\u9053\u4e4b\u4eba\u865b\u61f7\u82e5\u8c37\uff0c\u7121\u6eef\u7121\u7919\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u5f9e\u8ad7\u7576\u5373\u660e\u767d\u4e86\u5927\u9053\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Ordinary Mind is the Way<\/strong><br>DM Zhaozhou asked Chan Master Nan Quan, &#8220;What is the Way?&#8221; Chan Master Nan Quan replied, &#8220;The ordinary mind is the Way.&#8221; DM Zhaozhou asked, &#8220;Is there a target to follow?&#8221; Chan Master Nan Quan said, &#8220;If there is a target, then it won\u2019t be right.&#8221; DM Zhaozhou asked, &#8220;Without a goal to follow, how can we know it is the Way?&#8221; Chan Master Nan Quan replied, &#8220;The Way does not belong to knowing. Knowledge is a kind of delusory perception, while not knowing is the same as not having wisdom. A person who has realized the Way is humble and open, without obstruction or any hindrance.&#8221; At that moment, DM Zhaozhou immediately understood the great Way.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u5875\u57c3<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6709\u4e00\u5929\uff0c\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\u5728\u4f5b\u5802\u524d\u6383\u5730\uff0c\u6709\u50e7\u4eba\u554f\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u4f60\u662f\u5f97\u9053\u9ad8\u50e7\u4e86\uff0c\u600e\u9ebc\u9084\u6383\u5730\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\u56de\u7b54\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u5875\u57c3\u662f\u5f9e\u5916\u9762\u98db\u4f86\u7684\u3002<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u90a3\u50e7\u4eba\u53c8\u554f\uff1a<\/strong><strong>\u300c<\/strong><strong>\u9019\u88e1\u662f\u6e05\u6de8\u8056\u5730\uff0c\u600e\u9ebc\u6703\u6709\u5875\u57c3\uff1f<\/strong><strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u8d99\u5dde\u548c\u5c1a\u8aaa\u9053\uff1a\u300c\u77a7\uff0c\u53c8\u98db\u9032\u4f86\u4e86\u4e00\u500b\u5875\u57c3\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dust<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One day, DM Zhaozhou was sweeping the floor in front of the Buddha Hall. A monk asked, &#8220;You are already an enlightened master, why are you still sweeping the floor?&#8221; DM Zhaozhou replied, &#8220;The dust flies in from outside.&#8221; The monk said, &#8220;This is a pure and sacred place. How can there be any dust?&#8221; DM Zhaozhou said, &#8220;See? Here comes another speck of dust.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-94358a5de63c6a824c109bbf26a90bbb wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"color:#733232\"><strong>\u3016<\/strong><strong>\u9f8d\u6f6d\u5d07\u4fe1<\/strong><strong>\u3017<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u9f8d\u6f6d\u5d07\u4fe1<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u662f\u5929\u7687\u9053\u609f<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u7684\u5b78\u751f\uff0c\u9f8d\u6f6d<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u51fa\u8eab\u8ca7\u7aae\uff0c\u51fa\u5bb6\u524d\u662f\u4ee5\u8ce3\u71d2\u9905\u70ba\u751f\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u9053\u609f<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u628a\u5edf\u65c1\u7684\u5c0f\u5c4b\u501f\u7d66\u4ed6\u4f4f\uff0c\u70ba\u4e86\u8868\u793a\u611f\u6fc0\uff0c\u4ed6\u6bcf\u5929\u90fd\u9001\u53bb\u5341\u584a\u71d2\u9905\u7d66\u9053\u609f<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Chan Master Chongxin of Longtan<br><\/strong>Chan Master Chong Xin of Long Tan was a disciple of Chan Master Dao Wu. Born into poverty, before becoming a monk, Master Chong Xin earned a living by selling baked rolls. Chan Master Dao Wu kindly allowed him to live in a small hut beside the temple. To show his gratitude, Chan Master Long Tan would send ten baked rolls to Chan Master Dao Wu every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u6bcf\u7576\u9053\u609f<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u6536\u4e86\u71d2\u9905\uff0c\u90fd\u7e3d\u6703\u5269\u4e0b\u4e00\u584a\u9905\u7d66\u9f8d\u6f6d<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u3002\u4e26\u8aaa\u9053\uff1a\u300c\u9019\u662f\u6211\u9001\u7d66\u4f60\u7684\uff0c\u4ee5\u4fdd\u4f51\u4f60\u7684\u5b50\u5b6b\u3002\u300d\u6bcf\u5929\u90fd\u5982\u6b64\uff0c\u4e26\u5c07\u6b64\u884c\u70ba\u8996\u70ba\u5e38\u898f\u3002\u7d93\u904e\u5e7e\u5e74\u5f8c\uff0c\u67d0\u65e5\uff0c\u9f8d\u6f6d<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u5ffd\u7136\u624d\u53cd\u61c9\u904e\u4f86\uff0c\u767c\u73fe\u9019\u4ef6\u4e8b\uff0c\u4e0d\u89e3\u5730\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u6211\u9001\u7d66\u60a8\u7684\u9905\uff0c\u70ba\u4ec0\u9ebc\u60a8\u53c8\u9001\u9084\u7d66\u6211\u5462\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u9053\u609f<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u56de\u7b54\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u662f\u4f60\u9001\u4f86\u7684\uff0c\u6211\u53c8\u9084\u7d66\u4f60\uff0c\u9019\u6709\u4ec0\u9ebc\u4e0d\u5c0d\u55ce\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u9f8d\u6f6d<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u82e5\u6709\u6240\u609f\uff0c\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u5f1f\u5b50\u6d6e\u751f\u64fe\u64fe\uff0c\u7562\u7adf\u5982\u4f55\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u9053\u609f<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b\u8aaa\u9053<\/strong><strong>\uff1a\u300c\u5728\u5bb6\u7262\u7344\u903c\u8fee\uff0c\u51fa\u5bb6\u900d\u9059\u5bec\u5ee3\u3002\u300d<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u65bc\u662f\u9f8d\u6f6d<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u6c7a\u5fc3\u51fa\u5bb6\uff0c\u4fbf\u5728\u9053\u609f\u5e2b<\/strong><strong>\u79aa\u5e2b\u5ea7\u4e0b\u5243\u5ea6<\/strong><strong>\u3002<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whenever Chan Master Dao Wu received the baked rolls, he would always keep one aside and give it back to Chan Master Long Tan, saying, &#8220;This is for you, to bless your children.&#8221; This became a daily routine. After several years, one day, Chan Master Long Tan suddenly realized this and, very puzzled, he asked, &#8220;I send you the baked rolls, so why do you always give one back to me?&#8221; Chan Master Dao Wu replied, &#8220;You sent it to me, and I am simply returning it to you. What&#8217;s wrong with that?&#8221; Upon hearing this, Chan Master Long Tan seemed to have some insight and asked, &#8220;My life is chaotic and disturbed; what ultimately should I do?&#8221; Chan Master Dao Wu replied, &#8220;At home, you&#8217;re confined by prison walls; as a monastic, you are free and unburdened.&#8221; Therefore, Chan Master Long Tan made a firm decision to leave home and study under Chan Master Dao Wu.<strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u4eca\u5929\u5728\u770b\u9019\u4e9b\u516c\u6848\uff0c\u6e96\u5099\u7d50\u6cd5\u7de3\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u6211\u5c31\u6709\u4e00\u500b\u611f\u60f3\uff0c\u6211\u5c31\u8aaa\u53cd\u7701\u81ea\u5df1\u5427\u3002<\/strong><strong> <\/strong><strong>\u5176\u5be6\u5f88\u591a\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u5167\u5fc3\u5f88\u5bb9\u6613\u5600\u5600\u5495\u5495\u5f88\u591a\u4e8b\u60c5\u3002\u7956\u5e2b\u5e38\u5e38\u90fd\u6703\u7528\u5f88\u591a\u65b9\u6cd5\u4f86\u63d0\u9192\u6211\u5011\uff0c\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u5f88\u591a\u6642\u5019\u6211\u5011\u7684\u601d\u616e\u904e\u591a\u5462\uff1f\u5176\u5be6\u5f88\u591a\u4e8b\u60c5\u6c92\u6709\u90a3\u9ebc\u8907\u96dc\u3002\u5f88\u591a\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u597d\u50cf\u6709\u9019\u7a2e\u904e\u5ea6\u601d\u7dad\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u5224\u65b7\u5f88\u591a\u4e8b\u60c5\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u6703\u5c0d\u4eba\u6709\u904e\u5ea6\u7684\u53cd\u61c9\u3002\u4eba\u5bb6\u8aaa\u7684\u4e00\u4e9b\u8a71\uff0c\u505a\u7684\u4e8b\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5c31\u6703\u53d7\u5230\u9019\u7a2e\u60c5\u7dd2\u7684\u5f71\u97ff\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today, while reading these stories and preparing for tonight\u2019s talk, I had a thought: I would reflect on myself. Actually, many times our minds are easily filled with numerous concerns. The patriarchs often use various methods to remind us\u2014aren&#8217;t we often overthinking? Many things are not that complicated. Often, we seem to overthink or judge many things excessively, leading to overreactions towards others.
