\u6700\u8fd1\u770b\u5230\u5728\u4f5b\u6bbf\u8209\u884c\u7684\u51fa\u5bb6\u5100\u5f0f\u6642\uff0c\u4f7f\u6211\u56de\u60f3\u8d77\u81ea\u5df1\u5728\u96e2\u958b\u4e16\u4fd7\u7684\u5bb6\uff0c\u9032\u5165\u50e7\u5718\u7684\u7d93\u9a57\u3002\u8a18\u5f97\u7576\u6642\u6211\u6709\u4e9b\u9a5a\u8a1d\uff0c\u56e0\u70ba\u6211\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u65b0\u4f86\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u5c0d\u4f5b\u6559\u4e00\u7121\u6240\u77e5\uff0c\u7adf\u7136\u53ef\u4ee5\u88ab\u8003\u616e\u4f5c\u70ba\u51fa\u5bb6\u4e4b\u5019\u9078\u4eba\u3002<\/p>\n
As I watched the recent leaving home ceremony here in the Buddha hall, I recalled my own leaving the householder\u2019s life and entering monastic life.\u00a0I remember feeling somewhat surprised that I would be even considered as a possible candidate for monastic life, I was such a newcomer, and didn\u2019t know anything at all about Buddhism.<\/p>\n
\u5728\u4e8c\u25cb\u25cb\u4e8c\u5e74\uff0c\u6211\u672c\u4f86\u662f\u8981\u70ba\u7f8e\u570b\u7684\u548c\u5e73\u968a\u53bb\u5357\u7f8e\u6d32\u505a\u7fa9\u52d9\u8001\u5e2b\uff0c\u7531\u65bc\u6211\u5fc3\u614b\u7684\u6539\u8b8a\uff0c\u800c\u4f86\u5230\u842c\u4f5b\u8056\u57ce\u5b78\u7fd2\u4f5b\u6cd5\uff0c\u4e26\u7576\u7fa9\u5de5\u3002<\/p>\n
I had come to CTTB in 2002 to study Buddhism and to do volunteer work. After\u00a0a \u201cchange of heart\u201d about working\u00a0 for the US Peace Corps as a volunteer teacher in South America.<\/p>\n
\u901a\u904e\u6211\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u597d\u670b\u53cb\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e00\u6b21\u9047\u5230\u5e2b\u7236\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u6559\u5c0e\u6642\uff0c\u6211\u6b23\u559c\u7121\u6bd4\uff0c\u8feb\u4e0d\u6025\u5f85\u5730\u60f3\u8981\u5b78\u7fd2\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u5176\u5b83\u6559\u5c0e\u3002\u7576\u6211\u95b1\u8b80\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u958b\u793a\uff0c\u770b\u5230\u6cd5\u7e3d\u5404\u5206\u652f\u9053\u5834\u6240\u5728\u6642\uff0c\u5fc3\u4e2d\u975e\u5e38\u9ad8\u8208\u3002<\/p>\n
When I first encountered Venerable Master\u2019s teachings, through my good friend, I was overcome with joy, and an over-riding urgency to learn more of his teachings.\u00a0So as I perused the Dharma talk books, I was delighted when I came upon a listing of the various DRBA monasteries.<\/p>\n
\u6211\u99ac\u4e0a\u88ab\u99ac\u4f86\u897f\u4e9e\u5438\u5f15\u4f4f\uff0c\u63a5\u8457\u5169\u5929\u6211\u4e00\u76f4\u6253\u96fb\u8a71\u7d66\u5409\u9686\u5761\u7684\u9053\u5834\uff0c\u4f46\u4e00\u76f4\u6c92\u6709\u8fa6\u6cd5\u6253\u901a\u3002\u7e3d\u662f\u807d\u5230\u9304\u97f3\u6a5f\u8aaa\ufe55\u7531\u65bc\u96fb\u8a71\u7dda\u8def\u6545\u969c\uff0c\u6253\u5230\u5409\u9686\u5761\u7684\u96fb\u8a71\uff0c\u7121\u6cd5\u63a5\u901a\u3002\u4e4b\u5f8c\uff0c\u6709\u4eba\u6307\u9ede\u6211\u6253\u96fb\u8a71\u53bb\u8056\u57ce\u78b0\u78b0\u904b\u6c23\uff0c\u7d50\u679c\u4e00\u5207\u90fd\u5f88\u9806\u5229\u3002\u5e7e\u500b\u6708\u5f8c\uff0c\u6211\u5c31\u4f86\u5230\u8056\u57ce\uff0c\u5145\u6eff\u82b1\u4e00\u5e74\u6642\u9593\u5b78\u7fd2\u4f5b\u6cd5\u7684\u5e0c\u671b\uff0c\u548c\u4e00\u5e74\u904e\u5f8c\uff0c\u5c31\u56de\u5230\u5de5\u4f5c\u5d17\u4f4d\u53ca\u5176\u4ed6\u4efb\u4f55\u7b49\u8457\u6211\u7684\u4e8b\u3002<\/p>\n
I was instantly drawn to Malaysia, and spent the next 2 days trying to telephone a monastery listed in Kuala Lumpur…but to no avail\u2026I kept getting a recording stating\u00a0 that the telephone circuits were down,\u00a0and that no calls were going through to Kualua Lumpur.\u00a0Then I was somehow directed to telephone CTTB instead, to try my luck\u2026 (.maybe this sentence is too vague\u2026I can alter it if needs be!!!)\u00a0 Things went smoothly, and within a few months I arrived at CTTB full of hopes of learning Buddhism\u2026of studying for a year, and then after a year, returning to the world of work and whatever else awaited me.<\/p>\n
\u8b93\u6211\u8a1d\u7570\u7684\u662f\uff0c\u4e00\u5e74\u904e\u53bb\u4e86\uff0c\u6211\u5b8c\u5168\u4e0d\u60f3\u8981\u96e2\u958b\u842c\u4f5b\u57ce\uff0c\u53cd\u800c\u5f88\u6025\u5207\u5730\u60f3\u8981\u51fa\u5bb6\u3002\u4e00\u6b21\u6b21\u7684\u8e0f\u5165\u4f5b\u6bbf\uff0c\u9019\u7a2e\u611f\u89ba\u5c31\u4e00\u6b21\u6b21\u7684\u589e\u5f37\u3002\u6211\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u9019\u7a2e\u60f3\u8981\u4f5c\u51fa\u5bb6\u4eba\u7684\u5f37\u70c8\u6b32\u671b\u662f\u5f9e\u54ea\u5152\u4f86\u7684\uff1f\u6211\u8a66\u5716\u6f20\u8996\u5b83\u3001\u58d3\u6291\u5b83\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u9019\u500b\u529b\u91cf\u662f\u90a3\u9ebc\u7684\u5f37\u5927\u3002\u300c\u9019\u4e26\u4e0d\u5728\u6211\u7684\u8a08\u5283\u5167\u3002\u300d\u6211\u60f3\u8457\u3002\u9019\u7a2e\u611f\u89ba\u662f\u5f9e\u4f55\u800c\u4f86\uff1f\u662f\u600e\u9ebc\u4e00\u56de\u4e8b\uff1f\u6211\u60f3\u8981\u4e86\u89e3\u767c\u751f\u4e86\u4ec0\u9ebc\u4e8b\uff0c\u548c\u9019\u7a2e\u611f\u89ba\u6bd4\u751f\u547d\u66f4\u91cd\u5927\u7684\u65b0\u610f\u5ff5\u662f\u5f9e\u54ea\u88e1\u4f86\u7684\u3002\u65bc\u662f\u6211\u53bb\u8acb\u6559\u5169\u4f4d\u6bd4\u4e18\u5c3c\uff0c\u60f3\u8981\u6f84\u6e05\u6211\u7684\u7591\u60d1\uff1b\u7562\u7adf\u6211\u5c0d\u4f5b\u6559\u4e00\u7121\u6240\u77e5\uff0c\u5c0d\u51fa\u5bb6\u751f\u6d3b\u4e00\u7121\u6240\u77e5\uff0c\u5c0d\u6574\u500b\u5bfa\u5edf\u88e1\u7684\u4e16\u754c\u4e5f\u4e00\u7121\u6240\u77e5\u3002<\/p>\n
Much to my surprise, the year came and went, and I had no desire to leave the City of 10,000 Buddhas\u2026quite the contrary\u2026.I had a tremendous urge to enter the monastic life\u2026which only increased with each visit I took to the Buddha hall.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t understand the origin of such a powerful wanting to become a nun\u2026I tried to ignore it, suppress it, but the momentum was so very powerful\u2026\u201dthis wasn\u2019t part of my plan,\u201d\u00a0 I thought\u2026where is this feeling coming from, what\u2019s going on here???\u2026I wanted to understand what was happening\u00a0 and the origin of this \u201clarger-than-life\u201d, newfound idea\/feeling. So I went to explain my situation to\u00a0 2 of the nuns, to try to get some clarity on the situation.\u00a0After all, I knew nothing at all about Buddhism, nothing about monastic life, and nothing about the world of the monastery.<\/p>\n
\u9019\u5169\u4f4d\u6bd4\u4e18\u5c3c\u4e86\u89e3\u6211\u7684\u60c5\u6cc1\uff0c\u6148\u60b2\u5730\u544a\u8a34\u6211\u8aaa\uff1a\u8a31\u591a\u4eba\u51fa\u5bb6\uff0c\u901a\u5e38\u662f\u5728\u904e\u53bb\u751f\u4e2d\u767c\u904e\u9858\uff0c\u8981\u518d\u56de\u4f86\u7576\u50e7\u5c3c\u3002\u6211\u4e00\u76f4\u4ee5\u70ba\u9019\u7a2e\u9858\uff0c\u662f\u5929\u4e3b\u6559\u6216\u662f\u82f1\u570b\u8056\u516c\u6703\u7684\u795e\u7236\uff0c\u8981\u63a5\u53d7\u8056\u8077\u524d\u6240\u767c\u7684\u9858\u3002\u6211\u56e0\u5f9e\u672a\u807d\u8aaa\u904e\u300d\u300c\u904e\u53bb\u4e16\u300d\u6240\u767c\u7684\u9858\u800c\u56f0\u60d1\uff0c\u4e0d\u904e\u7d93\u5979\u5011\u7684\u89e3\u91cb\u548c\u9f13\u52f5\uff0c\u6211\u5c31\u5bec\u5fc3\u4e86\u3002<\/p>\n
The nuns, understanding my naivet\u00e9, kindly explained that\u00a0many people who enter monastic life, usually make vows in past lives to return as monks or nuns. I had always thought that vows were something which Catholic or Anglican Priests took before committing to\u00a0the clergy.\u00a0Never before had I heard of \u201cpast life\u201d vows, and\u00a0 was baffled, but relieved by their words and their explanation.<\/p>\n
\u9019\u5f37\u70c8\u60f3\u8981\u51fa\u5bb6\u7684\u610f\u5ff5\uff0c\u4e00\u76f4\u6301\u7e8c\u8457\u3002\u4f46\u672c\u4f86\u6ce2\u6fe4\u6d36\u6e67\u4f3c\u7684\u611f\u89ba\uff0c\u548c\u7de9\u5e73\u975c\u4e0b\u4f86\u4e86\u3002\u6211\u7d42\u65bc\u958b\u59cb\u6709\u89e3\u812b\u7684\u7d93\u9a57\u3002<\/p>\n
This intense feeling of wanting to leave the householder\u2019s life continued to gain momentum, but what had originally\u00a0seemed like a raging , tumultuous current, now felt calm and peaceful.\u00a0 I had finally\u00a0begun to experience\u00a0some relief.<\/p>\n
\u6709\u4e00\u5929\u665a\u4e0a\uff0c\u5728\u4f5b\u6bbf\u5750\u8457\u807d\u7d93\uff0c\u6211\u624b\u4e2d\u6367\u8457\u300a\u5999\u6cd5\u84ee\u83ef\u7d93\u300b\uff0c\u82e5\u6709\u6240\u601d\u800c\u8b8a\u5f97\u5fc3\u4e0d\u5728\u7109\u3002\u4e3b\u8b1b\u8005\u5728\u8b1b\u7d93\u6642\uff0c\u6211\u7684\u601d\u7dd2\u76e4\u64da\u5728\u51fa\u5bb6\u524d\u9700\u8981\u8fa6\u597d\u7684\u8a31\u591a\u4e8b\u60c5\u4e0a\u3002\u6211\u958b\u59cb\u60f3\u5230\u8981\u5ef6\u9072\u51fa\u5bb6\u3002\u300c\u6709\u90a3\u9ebc\u591a\u7684\u4e8b\u60c5\u5f85\u8fa6\uff0c\u800c\u6642\u9593\u53c8\u4e0d\u5920\uff0c\u6211\u6700\u597d\u662f\u7b49\u5230\u4e0b\u6b21\u7684\u6a5f\u6703\u518d\u51fa\u5bb6\u3002\u300d\u7136\u800c\uff0c\u7576\u6211\u4e0d\u7d93\u610f\u5730\u6253\u958b\u7d93\u66f8\uff0c\u6620\u5165\u773c\u7c3e\u7684\u662f\u4e0a\u4eba\u6240\u8aaa\u7684\u8a71\uff1a\u300c\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u6709\u6a5f\u6703\u51fa\u5bb6\uff0c\u61c9\u8a72\u99ac\u4e0a\u628a\u63e1\u90a3\u6a5f\u6703\u3002\u300d\u6211\u8fc5\u901f\u5730\u628a\u7d93\u66f8\u5408\u4e0a\uff0c\u7136\u5f8c\u5728\u53e6\u4e00\u500b\u5730\u65b9\u7ffb\u958b\u3002\u6211\u7684\u76ee\u5149\u5373\u523b\u843d\u5728\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u91cb\u6587\u4e0a:\u300c\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u73fe\u5728\u5ef6\u9072\u7684\u8a71\uff0c\u4ee5\u5f8c\u4e0d\u4e00\u5b9a\u6703\u6709\u51fa\u5bb6\u7684\u6a5f\u6703\u4e86\u3002\u300d\u6211\u60f3\uff0c\u600e\u9ebc\u9019\u9ebc\u6e4a\u5de7\uff0c\u597d\u50cf\u6211\u5728\u8ddf\u6211\u624b\u4e0a\u7684\u7d93\u66f8\uff0c\u4f5c\u7121\u8072\u7684\u5c0d\u8ac7\u3002<\/p>\n
One evening as I sat\u00a0in the Buddha hall during\u00a0the\u00a0evening lecture\u00a0 with the Dharma Lotus Flower sutra in hand, my mind became preoccupied, and drifted away from the dharma lecture. While the Dharma Host\u00a0was lecturing\u00a0 the\u00a0 Dharma Lotus Flower Sutra, my head became filled with thoughts of the many things that I needed to accomplish, before I could leave the home life. I began thinking that I needed to postpone becoming a nun\u2026\u201dso many things that I needed to get done, and there was not enough time..so I\u2019d better wait until the next opportunity to leave home\u201d I thought.\u00a0As I nonchalantly\u00a0opened the sutra, my eyes fell on Master Hua\u2019s words \u201cif you have the opportunity to leave the home life, you should take hold of that opportunity immediately\u201d were the words on the page in front of me .<\/p>\n
I immediately closed the sutra and reopened it randomly to another section, but again my eyes fell instantly on Master Hua\u2019s commentary\u2026 \u201cYou may not have another opportunity to leave the home life again, if you postpone it now\u201d\u00a0I thought \u201chow coincidental\u201d, it was as if I was having a silent conversation with the sutra in my hand.<\/p>\n
\u7136\u5f8c\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e09\u6b21\u6211\u628a\u7d93\u66f8\u5408\u4e0a\uff0c\u7279\u5730\u5728\u53e6\u4e00\u4e0d\u540c\u90e8\u4efd\u518d\u6253\u958b\u4e00\u6b21\uff0c\u78ba\u5207\u5730\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u8a71\u53c8\u51fa\u73fe\u8aaa:\u300c\u4f60\u4e0d\u50c5\u6703\u5931\u53bb\u9019\u8f29\u5b50\u51fa\u5bb6\u7684\u6a5f\u6703\u3002\u300d\u91cb\u6587\u4e0a\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u5728\u4f60\u4ee5\u5f8c\u7684\u751f\u547d\uff0c\u4e5f\u53ef\u80fd\u4e0d\u6703\u6709\u9019\u7a2e\u51fa\u5bb6\u7684\u6a5f\u6703\u4e86\u3002\u300d\u9019\u60c5\u5f62\u7e3d\u5171\u767c\u751f\u4e86\u4e09\u3001\u56db\u6b21\u3002\u6bcf\u6b21\u53ea\u8981\u6211\u96a8\u4fbf\u6253\u958b\u9019\u300a\u6cd5\u83ef\u7d93\u300b\uff0c\u51fa\u5bb6\u7684\u8a0a\u606f\u4e00\u6b21\u6bd4\u4e00\u6b21\u5f37\u70c8\u3002\u9019\u6642\uff0c\u6211\u624d\u7406\u89e3\u5230\u9019\u4e0d\u662f\u5de7\u5408\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u8981\u8b93\u6211\u6536\u5230\u4e00\u500b\u5f88\u5f37\u70c8\u7684\u8a0a\u606f\u3002<\/p>\n
So again, for the\u00a0 third time I closed the sutra, and made sure to reopen it to a distinctively different section, and sure enough there were Master Hua\u2019s words again \u201c Not only might you lose the opportunity in this lifetime\u201d His commentary said, \u201cbut you might not have the chance to leave the home life in future lives\u201d this went on for\u00a0 at least 3 or 4 times, with me randomly opening the Lotus sutra, and\u00a0 each time\u00a0 getting a stronger and stronger message about leaving the householder\u2019s life\u2026\u2026..at this point, I realized that this\u00a0was not mere coincidence, but that\u00a0I was receiving a strong message.<\/p>\n
\u6211\u76f8\u4fe1\u662f\u4e0a\u4eba\u5728\u7d66\u6211\u751f\u547d\u7684\u5f15\u5c0e\uff0c\u65bc\u662f\u99ac\u4e0a\u653e\u68c4\u672c\u60f3\u5ef6\u5f8c\u7684\u4efb\u4f55\u5ff5\u982d\u3002\u56de\u9867\u7576\u521d\uff0c\u73fe\u5728\u624d\u660e\u77ad\uff0c\u7576\u6642\u7684\u6211\u662f\u591a\u9ebc\u5730\u611a\u8822\uff0c\u7adf\u7136\u628a\u9019\u9ebc\u6df1\u9060\u91cd\u5927\u7684\u4e8b\u60c5\uff0c\u60f3\u5f97\u90a3\u9ebc\u5929\u771f\u3002<\/p>\n
I trusted the Venerable Master\u2019s guidance for my life, and immediately\u00a0abandoned my original thoughts of postponement of any kind. In retrospect, I now realize how foolish I was, in treating such a\u00a0profoundly important matter with such simple-minded naivet\u00e9.<\/p>\n
\u90a3\u662f\u4e8c\u25cb\u25cb\u4e94\u5e74\u7684\u79cb\u5929\u3002\u6642\u9593\u904e\u53bb\u4e86\uff0c\u4f46\u662f\u6211\u89ba\u5f97\u6211\u4ecd\u4f3c\u4e00\u500b\u521d\u5b78\u8005\u3002\u9084\u6709\u8a31\u591a\u4f5b\u6cd5\u8981\u5b78\uff0c\u4f3c\u4e4e\u9700\u8981\u597d\u5e7e\u8f29\u5b50\u624d\u80fd\u901a\u9054\u3002\u4e0d\u8ad6\u5982\u4f55\uff0c\u5728\u9019\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u6211\u5c31\u5118\u91cf\u505a\u597d\u6211\u80fd\u505a\u7684\uff0c\u5118\u53ef\u80fd\u5c08\u6ce8\u2014\u2014\u9019\u5f80\u5f80\u662f\u6211\u6700\u6399\u624e\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002<\/p>\n
That was in the Fall of 2005\u2026. time has passed and I feel still a beginner, with so much to learn about the Buddha dharma, that I\u2019ll need a few more lifetimes to gain any\u00a0 level of competency. Anyhow, in the meantime, I\u2019ll\u00a0 just do the best that I can, and try to be as mindful as possible, which is often a struggle for me.<\/p>\n
\u8fd1\u5e7e\u500b\u6708\u4f86\uff0c\u6211\u958b\u59cb\u4fee\u7fd2\u7684\u6cd5\u9580\u4e4b\u4e00\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u6bcf\u5929\u5ff5\u300a\u666e\u9580\u54c1\u300b\uff0c\u5b83\u5df2\u5e36\u7d66\u6211\u5167\u5fc3\u7684\u5e73\u8861\u3002\u6211\u5b8c\u5168\u8d0a\u540c\u4e0a\u9031\u516d\u7684\u8b1b\u6cd5\u8005\uff0c\u4ed6\u8aaa\u6bcf\u5929\u6301\u8aa6\u300a\u666e\u9580\u54c1\u300b\uff0c\u80fd\u5e6b\u52a9\u5e73\u606f\u5167\u5fc3\u7684\u6182\u616e\u3002\u5728\u4e00\u5e74\u591a\u524d\u667a\u5229\u767c\u751f\u91cd\u5927\u5730\u9707\u6642\uff0c\u5c31\u66fe\u5e36\u7d66\u4ed6\u5bb6\u4eba\u5229\u76ca\u548c\u5e73\u5b89\u3002<\/p>\n
One of the practices that I began in recent months,\u00a0and which has\u00a0 been helpful in bringing me inner balance, is daily recitation of the Universal Door Chapter\/Pu Men Pin.\u00a0I wholeheartedly agree with the Dharma Speaker of last Saturday, who said that daily recitation of the Universal Door Chapter helped to calm inner worry and anxiety, and which brought benefit and peace to his family during Chile\u2019s major earthquake over a year ago.<\/p>\n
\u6211\u6bcf\u5929\u65e9\u665a\u5404\u5ff5\u4e00\u904d\u300a\u666e\u9580\u54c1\u300b\uff0c\u5b83\u5927\u5927\u5730\u5b89\u64ab\u6211\u7684\u5fc3\u7dd2\u3002\u70ba\u4e86\u7bc0\u7701\u6642\u9593\uff0c\u6211\u7528\u82f1\u6587\u5feb\u5feb\u5730\u8aa6\uff0c\u4e0d\u904e\u6211\u5f88\u6b23\u8cde\u5b83\u60a0\u63da\u7684\u4e2d\u6587\u97fb\u5f8b\u3002<\/p>\n
I have been reciting the Universal Door Chapter, in the morning, and again in the evening before retiring\u2026 it helps to greatly pacify my mind, and although I recite it quickly in English in the interest of time, I really appreciate the melodious Chinese version.<\/p>\n

Last summer before my grandmother passed away, she was having a very difficult time \u201cletting go\u201d.\u00a0 She felt as if she was being tortured, and she would tell me in Creole, that she had many invisible visitors, many of whom she felt were torturing her.\u00a0 Her cries were agonizing, and her weeping and wailing could be heard from a distance.\u00a0 However after my aunt placed the Great Compassion Mantra recitation recorder in her room, she quieted down immensely, and passed away within two weeks.<\/p>\n
\u7576\u6211\u6bcd\u89aa\u76ee\u7779\u300a\u5927\u60b2\u5492\u300b\u93ae\u975c\u548c\u5b89\u64ab\u7684\u4f5c\u7528\uff0c\u7559\u7d66\u5979\u5f88\u6df1\u523b\u7684\u5370\u8c61\uff1b\u96d6\u7136\u5979\u4e0d\u662f\u4f5b\u6559\u5f92 (\u5979\u662f\u7f8e\u570b\u8056\u516c\u6703\u6559\u5f92)\uff0c\u5f9e\u90a3\u4ee5\u5f8c\uff0c\u5979\u4e0d\u4f46\u6c92\u95dc\u6389\u300a\u5927\u60b2\u5492\u300b\u9304\u97f3\u5e36\uff0c\u9084\u4e00\u76f4\u8b93\u5b83\u64ad\u653e\u8457\u3002<\/p>\n
The calming and pacifying effect of the Great Compassion Mantra which my Mother witnessed, has left such a profound impact on her, that although she\u2019s not Buddhist (she\u2019s Anglican), she has not turned off this recitation machine but has continued to keep the Great Compassion Mantra playing since then.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m happy to see my family\u2019s acceptance of the Buddhadharma increasing and growing, although they practice various Christian traditions.\u00a0Years ago, after my mother returned home to the east coast, after visiting me here at CTTB, she told me how healthy she felt after eating pure vegetarian food during her stay here.\u00a0At the same time my younger sister had been diagnosed with diabetes, and we were all worried about her.<\/p>\n

Earlier that week, I had read a story in Vajra Bodhi Sea, in which a mother prayed to Gwan Yin Bodhisattva to restore her child\u2019s health, and vowed to be a lifelong vegetarian in return.\u00a0 I told my mom this story, and asked her if she wanted to do the same\/ to pray to Gwan Yin Bodhisattva to\u00a0 heal Marjorie of diabetes, and to promise to be a life -long vegetarian, in return.\u00a0 I told her that I wasn\u2019t sure if it would work\u2026it might not work, but if she wanted to, she could just experiment, to see what happens. She agreed to do this\u2026to prayerfully request Gwan Yin Bodhisattva to help my sister to recover from diabetes \u2026.and to continue to eat only vegetarian food.<\/p>\n
\u4e00\u500b\u6708\u5f8c\uff0c\u7576\u6211\u59b9\u59b9\u518d\u53bb\u770b\u91ab\u751f\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u91ab\u751f\u8ddf\u5979\u9053\u6b49\u8aaa\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u770b\u932f\u4e86\u3002\u76ee\u524d\u6e2c\u8a66\u7684\u7d50\u679c\uff0c\u986f\u793a\u5979\u6c92\u6709\u4efb\u4f55\u7cd6\u5c3f\u75c5\u7684\u8de1\u8c61\u3002<\/p>\n
A month later, when my sister went for her medical check-up, the doctors apologized, said there was some mistakes, and that current test results showed that she had no signs of diabetes.<\/p>\n

I think that my Mum believed the doctors, that they made a mistake in their diagnosis. I too was skeptical at first, but as time goes by, I have heard\u00a0 so many inspiring and magical testimonials\/stories of people receiving miraculous help, and I often wonder \u201cdid the doctors actually make a mistaken diagnosis, or did Gwan Yin Bodhisattva answer a Mother\u2019s heartfelt plea\u201d?
