\u8af8\u4f5b\u83e9\u85a9\uff0c\u5ba3\u516c\u4e0a\u4eba\uff0c\u8af8\u4f4d\u6cd5\u5e2b\uff0c\u540c\u4fee\u5011\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff01<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5f1f\u5b50\u4f59\u89aa\u745e\u611f\u6069\u6cd5\u5e2b\u7d66\u4e88\u6211\u6a5f\u6703\u8207\u5927\u5bb6\u7d50\u6cd5\u7de3\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disciple Qin Rui is grateful to have this opportunity to tie Dharma affinity with everyone today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5f1f\u5b50\u5728\u4eca\u5e74\u4e03\u6708\u6c42\u53d7\u4e86\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u3002\u5728\u6b64\u5206\u4eab\u4e00\u4e9b\u5fc3\u5f97\u3002\u6709\u8b1b\u5f97\u4e0d\u5982\u6cd5\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff0c\u8acb\u5927\u5bb6\u6148\u60b2\u6307\u6b63\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This past summer I took the Bodhisattva Precepts. Today I would like to share some of my thoughts on learning and taking the Precepts. If anything I say is not in accordance with the Dharma, please kindly correct me.<\/p>\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n

\u5728\u4e00\u500b\u4f5b\u5f1f\u5b50\u7684\u751f\u547d\u4e2d\uff0c \u6211\u5011\u6709\u5169\u6b21\u65b0\u751f\u547d\u7684\u958b\u59cb\u3002\u4e00\u6b21\u662f\u7576\u6211\u5011\u51fa\u751f\u6642\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e8c\u6b21\u662f\u6211\u5011\u7688\u4f9d\u4e09\u5bf6\u6642\u3002 \u7688\u4f9d\u4e09\u5bf6 \u6a19\u8a8c\u8457\u6211\u5011\u7684\u6cd5\u8eab\u6167\u547d\u7684\u958b\u59cb\u3002 \u4f46\u7688\u4f9d\u4e09\u5bf6\u53ea\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u958b\u59cb\uff0c\u53ea\u6709\u53d7\u4e86\u4f5b\u6212\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u624d\u80fd\u7a31\u5f97\u4e0a\u662f\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u4f5b\u5b50\u3002 <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a Buddhist\u2019s life, we have two new lives, one is when we were born, the second time is when we take refuge with the Triple Jewels. It marks the beginning of our Dharma body and wisdom life. However, taking refuge is just a start. Only when we take the Buddhist precepts, can we say we are the true disciples of the Buddha. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300a<\/strong>\u68b5\u7db2\u7d93\u300b\u4e0a\u8aaa\u5230<\/strong>\u300c\u773e\u751f\u53d7\u4f5b\u6212\uff0c\u5373\u5165\u8af8\u4f5b\u4f4d\uff1b\u4f4d\u540c\u5927\u89ba\u5df2\uff0c<\/strong>\u771f\u662f\u8af8\u4f5b<\/strong>\u5b50<\/strong> <\/strong>\u00fb<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brahma Sutra<\/em> says, “When living beings receive the Buddhas’ precepts, they immediately enter the Buddhas’ position. When they have reached the position of the Great Enlightened, they are regarded as genuine disciples of the Buddha.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u7684\u5100\u898f\u4e2d\u63d0\u5230\uff0c\u7d93\u4e91\uff0c\u7576\u4e00\u4f4d\u4f5b\u5b50\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u6642\uff0c \u300c\u723e\u6642\u8af8\u4f5b\u83e9\u85a9\u89a9\u662f\u83e9\u85a9\u6cd5\u723e\u4e4b\u76f8\uff0c\u77e5\u67d0\u4e16\u754c\uff0c\u67d0\u540d\u83e9\u85a9\uff0c\u67d0\u83e9\u85a9\u6240\uff0c \u6b63\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6240\u53d7\u6d44\u6212\uff0c \u4e00\u5207\u65bc\u6b64\u53d7\u6212\u83e9\u85a9\uff0c \u5982\u5b50\u5982\u5f1f\uff0c\u751f\u89aa\u5584\u610f\uff0c\u7737\u5ff5\u6190\u61ab\uff0c\u7e47\u8af8\u83e9\u85a9\u7737\u5ff5\u6190\u61ab\uff0c\u4ee4\u662f\u83e9\u85a9\u5e0c\u6c42\u5584\u6cd5\uff0c\u500d\u5fa9\u589e\u9577\uff0c\u7121\u6709\u9000\u6e1b<\/strong>\u2026<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ritual for Transmitting Lay Bodhisattva Precepts mentions , the sutra says, \u201cWhen all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas see the hallmarks of this Bodhisattva-dharma as it truly is, they know that in a certain world, such and such a Bodhisattva in such and such a Bodhisattva\u2019s place has now received the pure precepts that Bodhisattvas should receive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They regard all these Bodhisattvas as they view their own sons, daughters, brothers, and sisters. They treat them like close relatives, and feel empathy for them. This kindred spirit and this sympathy quickly cause the wholesome Dharmas that this Bodhisattva seeks to rapidly multiply and to never diminish\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u5011\u53d7\u4e86\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\uff0c\u8af8\u4f5b\u8996\u6211\u5011\u5982\u540c\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u5b50\u5973\uff0c\u8af8\u83e9\u85a9\u8996\u6211\u5011\u7336\u5982\u5144\u5f1f\u59d0\u59b9\u3002\u4ed6\u5011\u6703\u500d\u52a0\u7737\u5ff5\u8b77\u6301\u6211\u5011\u3002\u8b93\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5584\u9858\uff0c\u5584\u6cd5\uff0c\u5584\u6839\u6709\u589e\u7121\u6e1b\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we take the Bodhisattva Precept, all Buddhas see us as their children, and all the Bodhisattvas see us as their brothers and sisters. They will be mindful of us, protect and help us, enabling our wholesome vows, Dharmas and good roots to grow and not diminish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u56e0\u6b64\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u662f\u5341\u5206\u6b8a\u52dd\u7684\u3002\u6b64\u5916\u7d93\u4e2d\u8aac\u5230\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u9084\u6709\u516b\u500b\u6b8a\u52dd\u529f\u5fb7\uff0c \u5728\u6b64\u4e0d\u4e00\u4e00\u5217\u8209\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, taking the Bodhisattva Precepts is very auspicious. In addition, the sutra says there are eight supreme Merit and Virtue of the Bodhisattva Precepts. Due to time limit, I will not go over them today. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u6709\u4e00\u4f4d\u670b\u53cb\uff0c\u5979\u8aac\u5979\u5bb3\u6015\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\uff0c\u6015\u4e0d\u80fd\u53d7\u6301\uff0c\u6703\u72af\u6212\u3002\u5979\u8aac\u5979\u53ea\u8981\u6301\u597d\u4e94\u6212\u5c31\u597d\u3002 \u5f1f\u5b50\u5728\u7533\u8acb\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u4e4b\u524d\u4e5f\u66fe\u6709\u9019\u6a23\u7684\u60f3\u6cd5\u548c\u9867\u616e\u3002 \u9019\u662f\u56e0\u7232\u6211\u5c0d\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u4e0d\u77ad\u89e3\u3002\u81ea\u5f9e\u6df1\u5165\u5b78\u7fd2\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u5f8c\uff0c \u9019\u7a2e\u7591\u616e\u5c31\u6253\u6d88\u4e86\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a friend who has taken the Five Precepts. She said she is afraid to take the Bodhisattva Precepts, because she is afraid she won\u2019t be able to uphold the Precepts. She just wanted to make sure she can uphold the Five Precepts well.  In fact, before I decided to apply for the Bodhisattva Precepts, I had the same doubts and concerns. I think that\u2019s because I did not understand Bodhisattva Precepts. My worries and doubts were dispelled as I started to learn the Precepts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u6212\u5f8b\u8ab2\u4e0a\uff0c\u6cd5\u5e2b\u8b1b\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u5c31\u662f\u6211\u5011\u7684\u81ea\u6027\u3002\u6211\u5011\u7684\u81ea\u6027\u662f\u6e05\u6de8\u7684\uff0c \u6c92\u6709\u67d3\u6c59\u7684\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u6301\u6212\u662f\u56de\u6b78\u6e05\u6de8\u672c\u7136\u7684\u81ea\u6027\u3002\u4e0d\u6301\u6212\uff0c \u624d\u662f\u8207\u81ea\u6027\u76f8\u9055\u80cc\u7684\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In our Precept class, the Dharma Master told us, the Bodhisattva Precepts is the same as our original  nature. Our original nature is pure, without any defilement. Therefore, upholding the Precepts allows us to return to our original true nature. On the contrary, not upholding the Bodhisattva Precepts is against our nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300a<\/strong>\u68b5\u7db2\u7d93\u300b\u4e0a\u8aaa\u5230\uff1a\u300c\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u662f\u8af8\u4f5b\u4e4b\u672c\u6e90\uff0c\u83e9\u85a9\u4e4b\u6839\u672c\u3002\u300d\u6211\u5011\u5b78\u7fd2\u5927\u4e58\u4f5b\u6cd5\uff0c\u800c\u5927\u4e58\u4f5b\u6cd5\u7684\u7cbe\u795e\u5c31\u662f\u884c\u83e9\u85a9\u9053\uff0c\u8981\u505a\u83e9\u85a9\uff0c\u4e00\u5b9a\u8981\u53d7\u6301\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u9806\u7406\u6210\u7ae0\uff0c\u7406\u6240\u7576\u7136\u7684\u3002<\/strong>
<\/strong>\u53d7\u6301\u4e94\u6212\u662f\u8b93\u6211\u5011\u4f86\u751f\u5f97\u4eba\u8eab\uff0c \u53d7\u6301\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u662f\u8b93\u6211\u5011\u7a2e\u4e0b\u6210\u4f5b\u7684\u7a2e\u5b50\u3002\u5176\u679c\u5831\u6b8a\u52dd\u4e4b\u5dee\u5225\u662f\u4e0d\u8a00\u800c\u55bb\u7684\u3002\u53d7\u4e86\u6212\uff0c \u505a\u4e8b\u624d\u6709\u6e96\u5247\u3002\u6709\u6212\u9ad4\u7684\u4fdd\u8b77\uff0c\u5fc3\u4e2d\u6703\u6642\u6642\u63d0\u8d77\u8b66\u89ba\uff0c\u53cd\u7701\u81ea\u5df1\uff0c\u4e0d\u505a\u4e0d\u8a72\u505a\u7684\u4e8b\uff1b\u72af\u4e86\u932f\uff0c\u80fd\u7acb\u523b\u8a8d\u8b58\u5230\uff0c\u751f\u615a\u6127\u5fc3\uff0c\u6c42\u61fa\u6094\uff0c\u767c\u9858\u5f8c\u4e0d\u5fa9\u9020\u3002\u800c\u6c92\u6709\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u9084\u662f\u904e\u8457\u7cca\u5857\u7684\u65e5\u5b50\uff0c\u505a\u932f\u4e86\u9084\u6e3e\u7136\u4e0d\u77e5\uff0c\u4e0d\u77e5\u4e0d\u89ba\u4e2d\u9084\u7e7c\u7e8c\u9020\u696d<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Brahma Sutra<\/em> says, \u201cthe Bodhisattva Precepts is the origin of all the Buddhas, the foundation of the Bodhisattvas. The essence of the Great Vehicle Buddhism is to practice the Bodhisattva Way. Naturally, upholding the Bodhisattva Precepts is the way to do. Upholding the Five Precepts will ensure we will be reborn as humans in our next life, upholding the Bodhisattva Precepts is planting the seeds to become a Buddha. The difference of the auspiciousness is obvious.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we take the Precepts, we have the guidance, principle and rules to follow. When we obtained the precept substance, it will protect us, we will be vigilant, reflecting upon ourselves, and refraining from doing the wrong deeds. If we committed wrong doings, we will be quickly aware and have a sense of remorse, and seek ways to repent, and vow not to repeat it again. On the other hand, if we do not take the Bodhisattva Precepts, we might still be living in confusion. Oblivious to what we have done wrong, thus continue to create bad karma out of ignorance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u7d93\u4e0a\u8aac\uff0c\u300c\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u6ec5\u7f6a\u6b8a\u52dd\uff0c \u53d7\u6212\u7834\u72af\u7336\u52dd\u5916\u9053\uff0c\u4ee5\u6212\u5a01\u529b\uff0c\u8a2d\u58ae\u60e1\u9053\uff0c \u53d7\u7f6a\u8f15\u5fae\u6545\u3002\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sutra says, \u201cOne of the merits and virtue of the Bodhisattva Precepts is the supremacy of eradicating offenses. We who have received these Precepts, even if we violate them, still have greater merit and virtue than cultivators of heterodox teachings, because the awesome virtue of these Precepts will diminish our suffering should we fall into the evil destinies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u6b64\u6211\u60f3\u9f13\u52f5\u5728\u5ea7\u9084\u6c92\u6709\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u7684\u540c\u4fee\u6709\u6a5f\u6703\u9019\u4e00\u751f\u4e00\u5b9a\u8981\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u3002\u5426\u5247\uff0c\u5982\u4e0a\u4eba\u6240\u8aac\uff0c\u5165\u4e86\u5bf6\u5c71\u537b\u7a7a\u624b\u800c\u6b78\uff0c\u9019\u4e00\u751f\u5c31\u53ef\u60dc\u4e86\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I would like to encourage the fellow cultivators who have not taken the Bodhisattva Precepts to considering taking whenever there is a chance in your lifetime. Or, it will be like what Venerable Master said, you come to the treasure grove, but return empty-handed. You would waste this life in vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u6211\u5011\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u5100\u898f\u4e2d\uff0c\u6bcf\u4e00\u4f4d\u6212\u5b50\u8981\u56de\u7b54\u6388\u6212\u548c\u5c1a\u7684\u5169\u500b\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u554f\u984c\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6388\u6212\u548c\u5c1a\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u8af8\u4f5b\u5b50\u807c\uff0c\u6c5d\u662f\u83e9\u85a9\u6de8\u5426\uff1f\u300d \u300c\u6c5d\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u672a\uff1f\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6212\u5b50\u56de\u7b54\uff1a\u300c\u662f\u83e9\u85a9<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong> <\/strong>\u300c<\/strong> <\/strong>\u5df2\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u3002\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the ceremony of Transmitting the Bodhisattva Precepts, every preceptee is required to answer two important questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Precept-transmitting Acharya: Disciples of the Buddha\uff01 Pay heed! Are you Bodhisattvas? Have you made the resolve for Bodhi?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Preceptees: We are Bodhisattvas! Yes, we have made the resolve for Bodhi!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u65e2\u7136\u662f\u83e9\u85a9\uff0c\u4e0d\u80fd\u4e0d\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u3002<\/strong>\u300a\u83ef\u56b4\u7d93\u300b\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u8005\uff0c\u5982\u4e00\u5207\u4f5b\u6cd5\u7a2e\u5b50\u3002\u300d\u53c8\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u4fee\u884c\u4e0d\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u7336\u5982\u8015\u7530\u4e0d\u4e0b\u7a2e\u3002<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since we are Bodhisattvas, we must bring forth the Bodhi resolve. The Flower Adornment Sutra says, Bodhi resolve is the seed of all Buddha Dharma. To cultivate without bringing forth the Bodhi resolve is like plowing the field without sowing the seeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4e0a\u4eba\u89e3\u91cb<\/strong>\uff1a<\/strong>\u300c<\/strong>\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u5c31\u662f<\/strong>\u300e<\/strong>\u89ba\u9053<\/strong>\u300f<\/strong>\uff0c\u89ba\u609f\u7684\u9053\u8def\u3002\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u5c31\u662f\u6839\u672c\u771f\u5fc3<\/strong>\uff0c<\/strong>\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u5c31\u662f\u884c\u4f4f\u5750\u81e5\u6240\u61c9\u9075\u5b88\u7684\u4e00\u7a2e\u6cd5\u5f8b\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u6cd5\u5f8b\u5c31\u662f\u6212\u3002\u7c21\u800c\u8a00\u4e4b\uff0c\u8af8\u60e1\u83ab\u4f5c\uff0c\u773e\u5584\u5949\u884c<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Venerable Master explains that Bodhi resolve is the way to enlightenment. It is the fundamental true mind\u3002 He also said the Bodhi resolve is the law we should follow when walking, standing, sitting, or lying, this law is the precept. In short, it is to avoid doing all evil, strive to do all good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa<\/strong>\uff1a<\/strong>\u300c<\/strong>\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u5c31\u662f\u6212\u5f8b\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u5225\u540d\uff0c\u6212\u5f8b\u5c31\u662f\u6559\u4f60\u89ba\u609f\u3002\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u662f\u4eba\u4eba\u5fc3\u4e2d\u672c\u5177\u7684\u5584\u7a2e\u5b50\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u80fd\u5920\u4e0d\u5fd8\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u4f60\u7684\u5584\u6839\u5c31\u4e0d\u6703\u65b7<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong>\u597d\u597d\u57f9\u990a\u589e\u9577\u83e9\u63d0\u5584\u7a2e\u5b50\uff0c\u5411\u8457\u6210\u4f5b\u7684\u9053\u8def\u53bb\u8d70\u3002<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Venerable Master said, \u201cBodhi resolve is just another name for precepts. The precepts will help you become enlightened. The Bodhi resolve is the wholesome seeds within everyone. If you do not forget your Bodhi resolve, your good root will not be broken.   Take care to nurture and cultivate your wholesome Bodhi seeds, stride forward on the way to become a Buddha.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u5011\u4ed4\u7d30\u807c\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u8a71\uff0c\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa\uff0c \u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u5c31\u662f\u6212\u5f8b\u3002<\/strong>\u5b83<\/strong>\u5011\u662f\u4e00\u4e0d\u662f\u4e8c<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Listen carefully to what Venerable Master said, he said the Bodhi resolve is precepts. They are one not two.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u90a3\u9ebd\u767c\u600e\u6a23\u7684\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff1f\u9019\u4e5f\u662f\u5f1f\u5b50\u60f3\u4e86\u5f88\u4e45\u7684\u554f\u984c\u3002\u7956\u5e2b\u5927\u5fb7\u52f8\u6211\u5011\u767c\u5927\u9858\u767c\u5927\u5fc3<\/strong>\uff0c<\/strong>\u8981\u767c\u5927\u9858\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u4e00\u5b9a\u8981\u5b78\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u7684\u56db\u5341\u516b\u5927\u9858\uff0c \u666e\u8ce2\u83e9\u85a9\u7684\u5341\u5927\u9858\u738b\uff0c\u5730\u85cf\u83e9\u85a9\u300c\u5730\u7344\u4e0d\u7a7a\uff0c\u8a93\u4e0d\u6210\u4f5b\u300d\u7684\u5927\u9858\uff1b\u548c\u5ba3\u516c\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u5341\u516b\u5927\u9858\u3002\u4f5b\u83e9\u85a9\u5927\u5fb7\u5011\u70ba\u6211\u5011\u505a\u4e86\u5f88\u597d\u7684\u699c\u6a23\u3002 \u4ed6\u5011\u6240\u767c\u7684\u9858\u90fd\u662f\u76e1\u865b\u7a7a\u904d\u6cd5\u754c\uff0c\u5ee3\u5927\u7a76\u7adf\u5713\u6eff<\/strong>\u7684<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kind of Bodhi resolve we should bring forth? This is another question I have thought about for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Patriarchs and Great Masters of the past have always encouraged us to bring forth a great Bodhi resolve and make vast vows. To make great vows, we have great examples, those are Amitabha Buddha \u2018s forty-eight vast vows, Samantabhadra Bodhisattva\u2019s ten vast vows, the Earth Store Bodhisattva \u2018s vast vow:  if hells are not empty, I vow not to become a Buddha, and the Venerable Master\u2019s eighteen vast vows. All of their vows are as vast as the empty space, immense, ultimate and perfect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6cd5\u5e2b\u5728\u6559\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u6642\uff0c\u4e5f\u6559\u5c0e\u6211\u5011\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u5011\u9084\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u600e\u6a23\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u767c\u56db\u5f18\u8a93\u9858\u3002\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa\u56db\u5f18\u8a93\u9858\u662f\u6bcf\u4e00\u500b\u83e9\u85a9\u90fd\u61c9\u8a72\u767c\u7684\u8a93\u9858\u3002\u300c\u8846\u751f\u7121\u908a\u8a93\u9858\u5ea6\uff0c\u7169\u60f1\u7121\u76e1\u8a93\u9858\u65b7\uff0c\u6cd5\u9580\u7121\u91cf\u8a93\u9858\u5b78\uff0c\u4f5b\u9053\u7121\u4e0a\u8a93\u9858\u6210\u3002\u300d \u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u7684\u6839\u672c\u5c31\u662f\uff1a\u4e0a\u6c42\u4f5b\u9053\uff0c\u4e0b\u5316\u8846\u751f\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Bodhisattva Precept class, the Dharma Master taught us, if you still don\u2019t know how to make a vow, then make the Four Vast Vows\u3002 The VM said, the Four Vast Vows are the vows that all Bodhisattvas should make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Living beings are limitless, I vow to cross them over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afflictions are inexhaustible, I vow to cut them off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dharma-doors are immeasurable, I vow to learn them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Buddha-path is unsurpassed, I vow to realize it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dharma Master taught us that the fundamental principle of making a vow is: To seek the Buddhahood above, and transform the beings below\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u53d7\u83e9\u85a9\u6212\u5100\u5f0f\u7684\u958b\u59cb\uff0c\u5be9\u6212\u61fa\u6094\u963f\u95cd\u9ece\u544a\u8aa1\uff1a\u300c \u9858\u6b32\u56db\u5f18\uff0c\u532a\u5c08\u81ea\u5229\uff0c\u65af\u5247\u767c\u5ee3\u5927\u4e4b\u56e0\u5fc3\uff0c\u76f4\u8da8\u5bf3\u6240\uff0c\u5e0c\u5982\u4f86\u4e4b\u679c\u5fb7\uff0c\u4e0d\u6eef\u5316\u57ce\uff0c\u5177\u6b64\u52dd\u61f7\uff0c\u53ef\u8b02\u4e0a\u5584\u3002\u3002\u3002\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Bodhisattva Precepts transmission ceremony, Karmadana Acharya heeded us,  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now we want to make the Bodhisattva\u2019s Four Vast Vows, but they cannot come forth from a selfish resolve. They can arise only after one\u2019s mind holds thoughts that are vast and great. Having brought forth these thoughts, we can advance straight to the Treasury of Jewels.  We hope the virtue of the Thus Come Ones\u2019 fruition will not be hindered by the \u2018Transformed City\u2019. Based on this superior wish, out resolve reaches the highest goodness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u9019\u88cf\u544a\u8aa1\u6211\u5011\uff0c\u767c\u9858\u7d55\u4e0d\u53ef\u4ee5\u6709\u7d72\u6beb\u81ea\u79c1\u81ea\u5229\u7684\u5fc3\u3002\u8981\u767c\u5ee3\u5927\u4e4b\u56e0\u5fc3\u3002\u300a\u695e\u56b4\u7d93\u300b\u4e0a\u8b1b\uff0c\u300c\u56e0\u5730\u4e0d\u771f\uff0c\u679c\u62db\u8fc2\u66f2\u3002\u300d \u5982\u679c\u6211\u5011\u7684\u767c\u5fc3\u4e0d\u771f\u8aa0\u4e0d\u6e05\u6de8\uff0c\u90a3\u9ebd\u6211\u5011\u5c31\u6703\u5931\u4e4b\u6beb\u91d0\u8b2c\u4e4b\u5343\u91cc\uff0c\u5e0c\u6c42\u5982\u4f86\u7684\u679c\u5fb7\u662f\u7121\u671b\u7684\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It tells us that our vows should not be attached with slightest intention of selfishness. This vow is vast and great, it is the one we make at the causal ground. Shurangama Sutra says, if the  cause ground is crooked, the result will be confused. If our vows are not sincere and pure, then results will be completely different. Then we will be far away from attaining Buddhahood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5728\u5b78\u6212\u904e\u7a0b\u4e2d\u6709\u4e00\u4f4d\u540c\u5b78\u66fe\u63d0\u51fa\u7591\u554f\uff1a\u300c\u6211\u6015\u767c\u4e86\u9858\u4e0d\u80fd\u505a\u5230\u3002\u300d \u6211\u60f3\u9019\u4e5f\u662f\u6211\u5011\u8a31\u591a\u6212\u5b50\u7684\u7591\u554f\u3002 \u5c0d\u6b64\u4e0a\u4eba\u5728\u958b\u793a\u4e2d\u6559\u7d66\u4e86\u6211\u5011\u5728\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\u4e2d\u5207\u5be6\u53ef\u884c\u7684\u65b9\u6cd5\uff1a<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the class, a preceptee raised the question: \u201cI am afraid of making a vow that I cannot keep.\u201dI think many of us have the same question too. As always, I know Venerable Master has the answer. He taught us how we can put our vows into daily practice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa<\/strong>\uff0c<\/strong>\u9019\u56db\u5f18\u8a93\u9858\uff0c\u4f60\u6bcf\u4e00\u5929\u4e00\u65e9\u8d77\uff0c\u5728\u9192\u4f86\u4e4b\u5f8c\uff0c\u8981\u5c0d\u4f5b\u524d\u767c\u9019\u56db\u5f18\u8a93\u9858\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u6bcf\u4e00\u500b\u83e9\u85a9\u90fd\u61c9\u8a72\u767c\u7684\u8a93\u9858\u3002\u65e9\u6668\u8981\u767c\uff0c\u665a\u4e0a\u8981\u554f\u4e00\u554f\u81ea\u5df1\uff0c\u773e\u751f\u7121\u908a\uff0c\u6211\u5ea6\u4e86\u6c92\u5ea6\u5462\uff1f<\/strong>\u5982\u679c\u6211\u5011\u6c92\u6709\u5ea6\u773e\u751f\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u6709\u6c92\u6709\u5ea6\u4e86\u81ea\u5df1\uff1f\u600e\u9ebc\u53eb\u5ea6\u81ea\u5df1\uff1f\u6211\u5011\u7688\u4f9d\u4f5b\u4e86\uff0c\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u505a\u4e00\u500b\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u597d\u4f5b\u6559\u5f92\uff1f<\/strong> \u2026<\/strong>\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u5728\u4f5b\u6559\u88cf\u982d\u6df7\u6df7\u9a19\u9a19\u7684<\/strong>\u2026<\/strong>\u6211\u5011\u5fc5\u9808\u8981\u4ee5\u8eab\u4f5c\u5247\uff0c\u4f86\u5f71\u97ff\u773e\u751f\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u4e5f\u4e0d\u6015\u5c11\uff0c\u5c31\u5ea6\u4e00\u500b\u773e\u751f\uff0c\u4ee5\u5f8c\u5169\u500b\u3001\u4e09\u500b\u3001\u56db\u500b\u3001\u4e94\u500b\uff0c\u7531\u5c11\u800c\u591a\uff0c\u90a3\u9ebc\u9019\u6a23\u53bb\u5ea6\u773e\u751f\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you wake up in the morning, you make the Four Vast Vows. This is the vow every Bodhisattva should make. When you go to bed at night, you reflect upon yourself:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The living being are limitless, have I crossed them over? If you have not crossed over the beings, have you crossed yourself over? What does that mean? Are you a good Buddhist ? Have you set yourself as a good role model for others, and have a positive influence on others, so they will bring forth their Bodhi resolve? We do not worry about crossing over too few, maybe we will start crossing one, two, three, four, or five, the gradually we will increase. That\u2019s how we cross over beings<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u6211\u60f3\u5230\u5728\u6212\u5f8b\u8ab2\u4e0a\uff0c \u6cd5\u5e2b\u8aaa<\/strong>\uff1a\u300c<\/strong>\u4f60\u5011\u5b78\u4e86\u4f5b\u6cd5\uff0c\u4f60\u7684\u767e\u5bf6\u7bb1\u88cf\u6709\u8a31\u591a\u7684\u6cd5\u5bf6\u53ef\u4ee5\u5e6b\u52a9\uff0c\u4f48\u65bd\u7d66\u8846\u751f\uff0c \u7d66\u4ed6\u5011\u5ff5\u4f5b\u4e0d\u5c31\u5ea6\u4e86\u4ed6\u5011\uff1f<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong>\u9019\u6a23\u60f3\u60f3\uff0c \u6211\u5011\u771f\u7684\u53ef\u4ee5\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u65b9\u6cd5\u5e6b\u52a9\u5ea6\u5316\u8846\u751f\u7684\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

That reminds of what we learned in the Precept class, the Dharma Master said, \u201cYou now have learned Buddha Dharma, you have a box of Dharma treasure to give to and help living beings, you can recite Buddha\u2019s name for them, this is a way to cross over living beings.\u201d Think about it, we do have a lot of ways to help living beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300c<\/strong>\u7169\u60f1\u7121\u76e1\u8a93\u9858\u65b7\uff0c\u6211\u65b7\u4e86\u6c92\u65b7\u7169\u60f1\u5462\uff1f<\/strong> <\/strong>\u6211\u7684\u7169\u60f1\u3001\u6211\u7684\u813e\u6c23\u6709\u6c92\u6709\u65b7\uff1f \u6240\u4ee5\u9996\u5148\u8981\u65b7\u7169\u60f1\u3001\u53bb\u7121\u660e\uff1b\u4f60\u80fd\u65b7\u5b8c\u7169\u60f1\uff0c\u53bb\u7121\u660e\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u4f5b\u6559\u5f92\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u4e0d\u8981\u6709\u813e\u6c23\u3002<\/strong>\u300d <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe afflictions are inexhaustible, have I cut them off? Have I cut off my own afflictions and gotten rid of my own temper? This is the first thing we should do. Only by cutting off your affliction and ignorance, will you be a true Buddhist. So do not have a temper.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300c<\/strong>\u6cd5\u9580\u7121\u91cf\u8a93\u9858\u5b78\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u6cd5\u9580\uff0c\u6211\u5b78\u4e86\u6c92\u5b78\u5462\uff1f\u6211\u61c9\u8a72\u5b78\u9019\u500b\u7121\u91cf\u7121\u908a\u7684\u6cd5\u9580\uff0c\u6211\u5728\u5fd9\u88cf\u5077\u9592\u4e5f\u8981\u8b80\u8aa6\u9ede\u7d93\u5178\uff0c\u770b\u770b\u4f5b\u66f8\u4e4b\u985e\u7684\uff0c\u9019\u53eb\u6cd5\u9580\u7121\u91cf\u8a93\u9858\u5b78\u3002<\/strong>\u2026<\/strong>\u6211\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u76e1\u770b\u90a3\u4e00\u4e9b\u500b\u8ac7\u60c5\u8aaa\u611b\u7684\u5c0f\u8aaa\u5440\uff1f\u6211\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u76e1\u770b\u90a3\u4e00\u4e9b\u5f15\u4eba\u60f3\u5165\u975e\u975e\u7684\u5c0f\u8aaa\u554a\uff1f\u6211\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u6c92\u6709\u7814\u7a76\u7d93\u5178\u554a\uff1f\u6211\u5011\u662f\u4e0d\u662f\u628a\u5bf6\u8cb4\u7684\u5149\u9670\uff0c\u90fd\u7528\u5728\u90a3\u500b\u6c92\u6709\u610f\u7fa9\u7684\u6642\u9593\u4e0a\u53bb\u4e86\uff1f<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong> <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cDharma-doors are immeasurable, have I learned them? I should take some time out of my busy schedule to read and recite sutras, and study books on Buddha Dharma. Or is that all you read is just lust stories or love story fictions or books that make people fantasize\uff1fHave I studied the sutras. Or have I wasted my time on useless things.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u4f5b\u9053\u7121\u4e0a\u8a93\u9858\u6210\uff0c\u6211\u6210\u4e86\u6c92\u6709\u5462\uff1f<\/strong> <\/strong>\u6211\u60f3\u8981\u6210\uff0c\u5c31\u8981\u767c\u5927\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u52c7\u731b\u7cbe\u9032\uff0c\u6709\u9032\u7121\u9000\u3002<\/strong>\u300c<\/strong>\u6211\u73fe\u5728\u9084\u662f\u500b\u51e1\u592b\uff0c\u9084\u6c92\u6709\u6210\u4f5b\u5462\uff0c\u6211\u8981\u8d95\u5feb\u4fee\u884c\uff0c\u624d\u80fd\u6210\u4f5b\u3002<\/strong>\u2026<\/strong> <\/strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Buddha Way is unsurpassed, have I realized it? I will bring forth great Bodhi resolve, be vigorous and courageous, and march forward and never retreat. \u201cNow I am still a regular human being, I must start cultivating now,  so I can become a Buddha.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u518d\u8005\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u5ea6\u8846\u751f\uff0c\u4e0a\u4eba\u53c8\u544a\u8aa1\u6211\u5011\u4e0d\u8981\u505a\u500b\u6ce5\u83e9\u85a9\u3002<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u300c<\/strong>\u6709\u7684\u4eba\u5c31\u8aaa\uff1a<\/strong>\u300e<\/strong>\u73fe\u5728\u6211\u8981\u5ea6\u773e\u751f\uff01<\/strong>\u300f<\/strong>\u4f60\u73fe\u5728\u9023\u81ea\u5df1\u9084\u6c92\u5ea6\u597d\u5462\uff01\u6240\u8b02<\/strong>\u300e<\/strong>\u6ce5\u83e9\u85a9\u904e\u6d77<\/strong>\u300f<\/strong>\uff0c\u4f60\u600e\u9ebc\u80fd\u5ea6\u773e\u751f\u5462\uff1f\u4f60\u628a\u4f60\u81ea\u5df1\u5148\u5ea6\u597d\u4e86\uff0c\u5df2\u7d93\u5c31\u5920\u4e86\u3002\u4f60\u81ea\u5df1\u6c92\u6709\u5ea6\u597d\uff0c\u4f60\u60f3\u53bb\u5ea6\u773e\u751f\uff0c\u9019\u53eb\u6368\u672c\u9010\u672b\uff0c\u6368\u8fd1\u6c42\u9060\u3002\u4f60\u6368\u5df1\u7530\u800c\u8018\u4eba\u7530\uff0c\u9019\u662f\u5927\u932f\u800c\u7279\u932f\u3002<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5148\u8d70\u5230\u9019\u500b\u4f5b\u570b\u53bb\uff0c\u5148\u5230\u6975\u6a02\u4e16\u754c\u3002<\/strong>\u2026<\/strong>\u4f60\u4e0d\u8981\u5230\u4e86\u6975\u6a02\u4e16\u754c\uff0c\u5c31\u81ea\u5df1\u5728\u90a3\u5152\u4e0d\u7ba1\u773e\u751f\u4e86\uff0c\u9084\u8981\u56de\u4f86\u5ea6\u773e\u751f\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u8981\u767c\u5927\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u5ee3\u5ea6\u4e00\u5207\u773e\u751f\u3002<\/strong>\u300d<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Venerable Master also warned us not to be a clay Bodhisattva.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some people say\uff0c\u201cI want to cross over beings now!\u201d You do not even have the ability to cross over yourself. It is like a Bodhisattva made of clay trying to cross over the sea. How could you cross over others? Cross over yourself first, that would be good enough. If you cannot even cross over yourself, and you say you want to cross over all living beings, it is forgetting the vital but chasing after the trivial,  ignoring the near but seeking the far. You neglect your own field but toiling on others\u2019field. That\u2019s a big mistake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You should get yourself to the Buddha land, to the Land of Ultimate Bliss first. ..Then return to the Saha world to cross over all beings. So make vast vows, extensively cross over all beings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u5c0d\u6b64\u4e0a\u4eba\u5c31\u8b1b\u5f97\u518d\u6e05\u695a\u4e0d\u904e\u4e86\uff1a<\/strong>\u300c<\/strong>\u8981\u767c\u5927\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\uff0c\u767c\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3\u4e0d\u662f\u8aac\u6211\u5011\u9019\u4e00\u751f\u5c31\u80fd\u6210\u5c31\u6211\u5011\u7684\u9858\u671b<\/strong>\u3002<\/strong>\u8981\u4fee\u884c\uff0c\u4e0d\u8981\u628a\u6642\u9593\u8352\u5ee2\u4e86\uff0c\u5ea6\u81ea\u5df1\u5ea6\u81ea\u6027\u7684\u8846\u751f\uff0c\u53ea\u6709\u5ea6\u4e86\u81ea\u5df1\uff0c\u4e0d\u518d\u9000\u8f49\uff0c\u90a3\u6642\u4e0d\u8981\u5fd8\u4e86\u81ea\u5df1\u66fe\u7d93\u767c\u904e\u7684\u9858\uff0c\u5ee3\u5ea6\u8846\u751f \uff0c \u8b93\u4ed6\u5011\u4e5f\u6210\u4f5b\u3002\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, the Venerable Master has given us clear instructions. Bring forth Bodhi resolve does not mean we will accomplish our Bodhi resolve in this life time. So do not be afraid to make vast vows. And do not waste time to cultivate, quickly become a Buddha,  when you reach the ground of non-retreating, then   do not forget the vows you made, put it into practice and help living being to become Buddhas too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u9019\u4e5f\u6b63\u662f\u84ee\u6c60\u5927\u5e2b\u5728<\/strong>\u3008<\/strong>\u897f\u65b9\u767c\u9858\u6587<\/strong>\u3009<\/strong>\u4e2d\u8aaa\u7684\uff1a<\/strong>\u300c<\/strong>\u83ef\u958b\u898b\u4f5b\uff0c\u898b\u8af8\u83e9\u85a9\uff1b\u805e\u5999\u6cd5\u97f3\uff0c\u7372\u7121\u751f\u5fcd\uff1b\u65bc\u9808\u81fe\u9593\uff0c\u627f\u4e8b\u8af8\u4f5b\uff0c\u89aa\u8499\u6388\u8a18\u3002\u5f97\u53d7\u8a18\u5df2\uff0c\u4e09\u8eab\uff0c\u56db\u667a\uff0c\u4e94\u773c\uff0c\u516d\u901a\uff0c\u7121\u91cf\u767e\u5343\u9640\u7f85\u5c3c\u9580\uff0c\u4e00\u5207\u529f\u5fb7\uff0c\u7686\u6089\u6210\u5c31\u3002\u7136\u5f8c\u4e0d\u9055\u5b89\u990a\uff0c\u56de\u5165\u5a11\u5a46\uff1b\u5206\u8eab\u7121\u6578\uff0c\u904d\u5341\u65b9\u524e\uff1b\u4ee5\u4e0d\u53ef\u601d\u8b70\u81ea\u5728\u795e\u529b\uff0c\u7a2e\u7a2e\u65b9\u4fbf\uff0c\u5ea6\u812b\u773e\u751f\u3002\u54b8\u4ee4\u96e2\u67d3\uff0c\u9084\u5f97\u6de8\u5fc3\uff1b\u540c\u751f\u897f\u65b9\uff0c\u5165\u4e0d\u9000\u5730\u3002\u300d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is also what the Great Master Lian Chi said in Vow to be Reborn in the West<\/em>: When the lotus flower opens, I see the Buddha and all Bodhisattvas; Upon hearing the wonderful Dharma sounds, I attain the Patience with the Nonproduction of Dharmas; Instantly I will serve the Buddha, receiving the prediction. Then I will obtain the three bodies, four wisdoms, five eyes, and six spiritual penetrations, and infinite Dharani-door, all merit and virtue will be accomplished. Then I will leave the Buddha land and return to the Saha world; I will transform into infinite bodies in the worlds of all ten directions; crossing over living beings with inconceivable spiritual power and various expedience, enabling them all leave the defilement and attain the pure mind; and be reborn in the West, entering the ground of non- retreatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
