\u6211\u4ecd\u820a\u5e38\u5e38\u64d4\u5fc3\u5abd\u5abd\u7684\u5065\u5eb7\uff0c\u6211\u6bcf\u500b\u79ae\u62dc\u90fd\u6253\u96fb\u8a71\u7d66\u5979\uff0c\u770b\u5979\u600e\u9ebc\u6a23\uff0c\u4e26\u544a\u8a34\u5979\u6211\u5728\u8056\u57ce\u7684\u751f\u6d3b\u9ede\u6ef4\uff0c\u53ca\u6211\u5b78\u4e86\u4ec0\u9ebc\u3002\u5979\u7e3d\u662f\u4ed4\u7d30\u5f88\u6709\u8208\u8da3\u5730\u807d\uff1b\u6211\u4e26\u6aa2\u67e5\u5979\u6709\u6c92\u6709\u505a\u529f\u8ab2\uff1b\u9664\u4e86\u6bcf\u5929\u65e9\u4e0a\u5ff5\u300a\u5927\u60b2\u5492\u300b\uff0c\u5979\u5e38\u5ff5\u300a\u5730\u85cf\u7d93\u300b\uff0c\u6211\u5f88\u4ee5\u5979\u70ba\u69ae\uff01<\/p>\n

\u6211\u60f3\u8981\u8ddf\u5927\u5bb6\u4ecb\u7d39\u6211\u8ddf\u6211\u540c\u4fee\u4f4f\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002Iowa\uff08\u611b\u8377\u83ef\uff09\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u8fb2\u696d\u5dde\uff0c\u5728\u7f8e\u570b\u7684\u4e2d\u90e8\u3002Iowa\u751f\u7522\u5f88\u591a\u5927\u8c46\u53ca\u7389\u7c73\uff0c\u4f46\u4e5f\u990a\u4e86\u5f88\u591a\u706b\u96de\u53ca\u8c6c\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u6bba\u696d\u4e5f\u5f88\u91cd\u3002<\/p>\n

\u5927\u90e8\u4efd\u7684\u4eba\u90fd\u4fe1\u57fa\u7763\u6559\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u5728\u6211\u5011\u4f4f\u7684Des Moines\u5e7e\u4e4e\u6bcf\u500b\u8f49\u89d2\uff0c\u5c31\u6709\u4e00\u9593\u6559\u5802\u3002<\/p>\n

\u6211\u5011\u4f4f\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u662fIowa\u7684capital\uff0c\u540d\u53ebDes Moines\uff0c\u662f\u6cd5\u6587\u3002Des Moines\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u4fdd\u96aa\u91cd\u93ae\uff0c\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u4fdd\u96aa\u516c\u53f8\u3002<\/p>\n

It is Meilin\u2019s turn to tie Dharma affinity with assembly. If I said something improper, please correct me.<\/p>\n

I was born in a Buddhist family. My father took refuge when he was young, and my grandmother tied Dharma affinity with \u4e0a\u958b\u4e0b\u8b49 Dharma Master long time ago. It is my brother who guided me to learn Buddhadharma in this life. He brought me and my mother to take refuge with Venerable Master when he came toTaiwan. \u00a0But, I was a terrible disciple who did not become vegetarian right away after taking refuge. \u00a0I was being 49 days vegetarian only when there was family member passed way, or being one day vegetarian when Buddha or Bodhisattva\u2019s birthdays. \u00a0Every time, my brother saw me, he keep telling me to become a vegetarian just like keep reciting a mantra, but his words came in to my ear from right side and came out from left side. \u00a0I did not become vegetarian until I tried to remember Shurangama Mantra in 2006. \u00a0I had visited CTTB before, but never came here for seven days Dharma Assembly. \u00a0Not to mention that I had the idea that one day I will live here. \u00a0In 1994, it was the first time that I visited CTTB with my father. \u00a0My father liked CTTB very much, and he said who lives here must have great blessings. \u00a0It was my father\u2019s first and last time visiting CTTB. He left his blessings to his daughter.<\/p>\n

In 2007, during celebration Guan Yin Bodhisattva\u2019s birthday, I came to CTTB for my first Guan Yin session. \u00a0This Guan Yin session reminded me of lots of things, and it also reminded me that I had not completed my ten thousands bows. \u00a0One month later, though I used up my annual leaves, I got permission from my supervisor and took leaves without pay to attend Ten Thousand Buddha\u2019s repentance, and stayed one week. \u00a0Since then, I came back CTTB at least twice a year to attend Dharma Assembly. \u00a0Later on, my husband also jointed me to come here for Dharma Assembly. \u00a0I encouraged him to take refuge.\u00a0 Few years after his taking refuge, I encouraged him to take five precepts and told him to complete the ten thousands bows as soon as possible.\u00a0 We had a plan that we will come here to work as volunteer after we retire. We felt ashamed that every time we came here, just enjoy everything without helping anything.<\/p>\n

But, in 2010, my mother\u2019s illness changed everything. My mother\u2019s health was not very good, but never stayed in hospital.\u00a0 In March of 2010, it was the first time that she was so ill that she needed to stay in hospital. \u00a0When I got the news, I was in panic. I was so muddled that forgot to offer to triple jewel for my mother until few days later. When I went back toTaiwan, I brought my MP3 with me, and in the MP3, there is Earth Store Bodhisattva repentance. \u00a0I let my mother listen few times. \u00a0I wish one day DRBA will publish Earth Store Bodhisattva Repentance as CD and benefits more people.<\/p>\n

In November of 2010, it was the second time my mom was sent to hospital. \u00a0She was in hospital twice in a year.\u00a0 This time, my brother called me and was in panic. I knew I and my bother do not have much virtue.\u00a0 Although, I and my brother do not like to trouble people, I told my brother to ask Dharma Master, Dharma bothers, and sisters make transference. \u00a0I was like an ant in hot wok, but my job not allowed me to take leaves again. \u00a0All I could do was offering to triple jewel for my mom, reciting sutra and making transference. \u00a0Then, I was downhill and helpless. \u00a0But, later on, an idea came into my mind that I could make a vow. \u00a0So, I made a vow that if my mom recovered, I would work for Way Place. \u00a0At the same time, when I recited sutra for my mom, I made transference to all people who take care of my mom. \u00a0My mom\u2019s surgery was successful, and all doctors, nurses, and medical assistant were very nice to her.<\/p>\n

But, when my mom got better, I became hesitated to quit my job. At that time, the unemployment rate was sky high. And, on the other hand, my supervisor asked me to learn this and that, and do this work and that work. \u00a0I was in dilemma. \u00a0I fought with myself constantly. \u00a0One day, I told myself that it only takes seven and half years that I can apply for early retirement. \u00a0The next day, I told myself that I should quit my job right away. \u00a0When it reached the point that I was so exhausted that I want to surrender and work until I retire. \u00a0The next day, I carelessly turned my MP3, and want to listen Venerable Master\u2019s Dharma Talk, it came out Venerable Master\u2019s voice, said that \u201c if you make a vow, you should complete it\u201d. \u00a0I almost jumped from my chair. I thought \u201c Oh, I have to quit my job!\u201d \u00a0So, here I am. \u00a0I have stayed at CTTB since last year\u2019s Ten Thousand Buddha Repentance.<\/p>\n

Last year, when I just came to live at CTTB. \u00a0I like the daily schedule at Buddha Hall very much, and I also like to work at organic farm. \u00a0I appreciate that DRBU kindly and warmly accept me. \u00a0I like all classes at DRBU too. \u00a0But, I also missed home. \u00a0I was not sure if I would stay. \u00a0I talked into myself that I will make decision after Guan Yin session. After Guan Yin session, I told myself that\u201d how could you leave without attending Earth Store Bodhisattva session?\u201d \u00a0After Earth Store Bodhisattva session, it happened to recite Entering Dharma Realm chapter in the morning, when we recite Avatamsaka Sutra.\u00a0 I followed Youth Good Wealth to visit each good wise adviser. \u00a0Then, I forgot that I want to go home. \u00a0Every morning, I was so eager to know which teacher Youth Good Wealth is going to visit. \u00a0When I recite Avatamsaka Sutra, I cried, sometimes because I was so touched, and sometimes because I felt ashamed of myself. \u00a0Before, I always thought that it is good enough if I could understand Dharma Flower sutra. But, the Avatamsaka Sutra is too hard to me. In fact, Avtamsaka sutra opens my mind. \u00a0I am very appreciated that I have chance to recite Avatamsaka Sutra. \u00a0I have to say thank you to Venerable Master.<\/p>\n

Who lives in CTTB is hard to avoid kitchen duties. \u00a0The first time when I went into kitchen, I was like an old lady from countryside visiting big city. \u00a0I never saw such a huge wok before, and I never saw such a deep sink. \u00a0I called my mom and told her that \u201c Mom! my duty in kitchen is washing vegetable, and the sink is so deep that it looks like fish tank.\u201d \u00a0After my first kitchen duty, my feet weak, and I felt that I would pass out. \u00a0But, now, I think kitchen duty is a good training. \u00a0It is not only to train you how to wash and chop vegetable; it is to train you to be patient, to be cooperative, and to be compromised. \u00a0Though, you are so tired and so hungry, you still need to finish your job. That is being patient. \u00a0And, sometimes you work with someone with quick temper, and she keeps handing over vegetable, and you wish you have two more hands to keep up with her speed. You need to be patient. \u00a0But, sometimes you work with someone who is so slow that she washes vegetable one leaf by one leaf. \u00a0You still need to be patient. In the kitchen, washing vegetable is the first step, you need to keep your speed with who chop and cook vegetable. \u00a0This is being cooperative. \u00a0However, in kitchen, everybody has their own way to handle things. \u00a0It said that there is no space for two women in one kitchen. \u00a0Then, you need to learn compromised or the kitchen will become war zone.<\/p>\n

Collection garbage is another challenge to me. \u00a0The van we use for garbage collection looks like a jumbo car to me. \u00a0Though I can drive, I never drove a big van before. \u00a0To me, it was a big achievement when the first time I drive the van by myself. \u00a0But, it does not mean that my skill is very good, so next time when you see me drive the van, please keep distance from me. In CTTB, I have experience that is so different than what I have before.<\/p>\n

In the past one and half year, there were tests, and usually I did not recognize until what has happened for a while. \u00a0So, all I can do is keep cultivation. \u00a0But, I learn to reflect on my own and I practice it more often. The words of DM always come to my mind. \u00a0She said to me in a way like a thunder striking, \u201ccontemplate your own mind instead of contemplating other people\u2019s mind!\u201d when she lectured on the class of One Hundred Dharma Shastra. I also learned how to make transference after listen to DM Sure\u2019s lecture of Ten Transference Chapter of Avatamsaka Sutra. \u00a0I learn a lot from Laity and Bodhisattva precepts too. \u00a0It makes me realize how much I did not know.<\/p>\n

I am still worry about my mom\u2019s health all the time. I call her every week to see how she feels, and I told her my life at CTTB, and what I have learned.\u00a0 She always listens carefully and with interest.\u00a0 I also check on her to see if she did her home work. Except \u00a0reciting Great Compassionate Mantra in every morning, she also recites Earth Store Bodhisattva Sutra. \u00a0I am very proud of her!<\/p>\n

And, my husband visits CTTB more often than before.\u00a0 One time, I called him during weekend, and I asked him if I wake him up.\u00a0 He said no. He said he woke up early and already finished his morning recitation.\u00a0 It really surprised me.\u00a0 When I live at home, I always need to wait him for morning recitation.\u00a0 I needed to wait until he had breakfast, and read his newspaper.\u00a0 For someone likes me who has little patience, it was a real test! But, I know if I lose my temper, he would not join me for cultivation. Since I live at CTTB, he knows he needs to be independent. Now, in the morning, he recites Universal Door Chapter and Heart Sutra before he has breakfast and goes to work.<\/p>\n

It seems I came to CTTB for my mom.\u00a0 In fact, it is my mom who helps me cultivation.\u00a0 I still have many afflictions because of my families, but it is always my families who make me bring forth my Bodhi Mind.\u00a0 They are my good wise advisor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
