The Venerable Master and all Dharma friends, Amitabha!\u00a0Those of you who are getting food or waiting, please be patient. In the meantime, we will share some cultivation experiences and reflections.<\/p>\n

\u672b\u65e5\u6c92\u5230\uff0c\u606d\u559c\u5404\u4f4d\uff01\u5230\u4e86\u9019\u500b\u4f86\u4e16\u3002\u53ef\u80fd\u672b\u65e5\u5230\u4e86\u6211\u5011\u90fd\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\uff1b\u7121\u8ad6\u5230\u4e86\u6c92\u5230\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u9084\u8981\u4fee\u884c\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u5c31\u662f\u606d\u559c\u5404\u4f4d\u3002\u6211\u5011\u8aaa\uff0c\u54ce\u5440\uff01\u600e\u9ebc\u6703\u6709\u4eba\u76f8\u4fe1\uff1f\u5be6\u5728\u6709\u4eba\u771f\u7684\u76f8\u4fe1\u3002\u5341\u4e8c\u6708\u5eff\u4e8c\u865f\u662f\u6700\u5f8c\u4e00\u5929\uff0c\u5c24\u5176\u5728\u81fa\u7063\uff0c\u5728\u4e2d\u570b\uff0c\u5f88\u591a\u4eba\u76f8\u4fe1\u3002\u6211\u6ce8\u610f\u5230\u4e00\u9ede\uff0c\u64da\u6211\u6240\u77e5\u9053\uff0c\u6c92\u6709\u4eba\u8aaa\u300c\u5ba3\u5316\u4e0a\u4eba\u5df2\u7d93\u9810\u544a\u7684\u9019\u500b\u672b\u65e5\u4f86\u4e86\u300d\uff1b\u9019\u7b97\u6709\u9032\u6b65\u3002\u56e0\u70ba\u4f60\u5011\u8a18\u5f97\u90a3\u500bSARS\u75c5\u4f86\u4e86\uff0c\u6709\u4eba\u8d81\u6a5f\u6703\u8aaa\uff0c\u300c\u54ce\u5440\uff0c\u9019\u5c31\u662f\u5ba3\u5316\u4e0a\u4eba\u6240\u8aaa\u7684\u9019\u500b\u672b\u65e5\u7684\u75c5\u707d\uff01\u300d\u9019\u6b21\u6c92\u6709\u4e86\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u90fd\u6c92\u6709\u9019\u6a23\u5b50\u8b6d\u8b17\u4e0a\u4eba\u3002<\/p>\n

First, I would like to congratulate everyone that the Apocalypse did not happen. It might happen in the future or when we least expect it, but no matter what happens, we should cultivate. If you think, \u201cOh, who would believe in that?\u201d Let me tell you that people do believe in this. Many people inTaiwan, inChinaand many other places believe that December 22nd would be the last day. But I think that there is an improvement, because this year, no one claimed that the Master already predicted the Apocalypse. When SARS was spreading, people took opportunities to say, \u201cOh, this is just what the Master said about illness and disasters proliferating as we reach the end of the world.\u201d This time, no one used the Master\u2019s words.<\/p>\n

\u4e0a\u4eba\u600e\u9ebc\u8aaa\u7684\u5462\uff1f\u4ed6\u8aaa\u5728\u9019\u500b\u570b\u5bb6\uff0c\u8981\u4ee5\u5fb7\u884c\u5f18\u63da\u4f5b\u6cd5\uff0c\u7528\u9053\u5fb7\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u7528\u795e\u901a\uff1b\u5728\u9019\u88e1\u6c92\u6709\u4eba\u76f8\u4fe1\u795e\u901a\uff0c\u53ef\u662f\u9019\u88e1\u9700\u8981\u9053\u5fb7\uff0c\u505a\u4eba\u7684\u57fa\u790e\u3001\u6551\u570b\u5999\u85e5\u5c31\u662f\u9053\u5fb7\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u5927\u5bb6\u73fe\u5728\u597d\u50cf\u6709\u6240\u9032\u6b65\u4e86\uff0c\u5047\u7684\u672b\u65e5\uff0c\u6c92\u6709\u4eba\u628a\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u540d\u5b57\u4e5f\u52a0\u9032\u53bb\u3002\u6050\u6015\u9084\u6709\u4e00\u4e9b\u5ba3\u50b3\u5927\u4e58\u4f5b\u6cd5\u7684\u5e2b\u7236\uff0c\u5c31\u7528\u9019\u500b\u6a5f\u6703\uff0c\u597d\u50cf\u5ba3\u544a\u81ea\u5df1\u6709\u7279\u7570\u529f\u80fd\uff1b\u90a3\u4eca\u5929\u4ed6\u5011\u600e\u9ebc\u89e3\u91cb\u672b\u65e5\u4e26\u6c92\u5230\u5462\uff1f\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u795e\u901a\u5df2\u7d93\u4e0d\u503c\u9322\u4e86\u3002<\/p>\n

What did the Master actually say? He said, \u201cWe need to govern this country with virtue. We need to spread the Buddha Dharma, but not through spiritual powers for no one will believe in that; instead, we should use virtue as the foundation to remedy society.\u201d Therefore, it is good that everyone has improved. Since the prediction was not true, there are some people who add the Master ‘ name to the list of people that use such occasions to show that they have skill. But how do they explain that the world did not end today? Those people who predict this, their spiritual powers are of no use now.<\/p>\n

\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u4e0a\u4eba\u771f\u7684\u544a\u8a34\u6211\u5011\uff0c\u5728\u9019\u500b\u570b\u5bb6\uff0c\u5728\u5eff\u4e00\u4e16\u7d00\uff0c\u4ee5\u5fb7\u884c\uff0c\u4ee5\u9053\u5fb7\u4f5c\u70ba\u6211\u5011\u5f18\u63da\u4f5b\u6cd5\u7684\u57fa\u790e\u9019\u9ebc\u4e00\u500b\u9053\u7406\uff1b\u73fe\u5728\u9019\u500b\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u771f\u7684\u9700\u8981\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u9019\u4e00\u9ede\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u53ef\u4ee5\u8aaa\uff0c\u5f9e\u672b\u68a2\u56de\u6b78\u5230\u6839\u672c\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u5f88\u597d\u7684\u73fe\u8c61\u3002\u5eff\u4e00\u4e16\u7d00\u6709\u4e00\u500b\u597d\u7684\u958b\u59cb\u3002<\/p>\n

Hence, the Master told us that in the 21st<\/sup> century, we need to use virtue and Buddhism as foundations for this country\u2014this is what this country really needs. To start off well in the 21st<\/sup> century, we begin with the peripheral and then are returning to our roots.<\/p>\n

\u5df2\u7d93\u5230\u4e86\u5f4c\u9640\u8a95\uff0c\u5927\u5bb6\u805a\u6703\u5728\u842c\u4f5b\u57ce\uff0c\u904e\u5f4c\u9640\u4e03\u3002\u6211\u5011\u5ff5\u7684\u662f\u300c\u5357\u7121\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u300d\uff0c\u4e00\u5929\u5ff5\u4e86\u5f88\u591a\u6b21\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u5531\u5ff5\u300c\u5357\u7121\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u2026\u2026\u300d\u9019\u6a23\u5b50\u3002\u8aaa\u7684\u4ec0\u9ebc\u5462\uff1f\u8aaa\u7684\u6211\u9858\u610f\u7688\u4f9d\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u4f5b\u9084\u6709\u7121\u91cf\u58fd\u4f5b\uff0c\u90a3\u662fAmit\u0101yus\u3002\u4e0d\u904e\uff0c\u4e00\u822c\u4f86\u8b1b\u300c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u300d\u7684\u610f\u601d\uff0c\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u5149\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u5149\u660e\u7121\u91cf\uff0c\u5f88\u5927\u5149\u660e\u3002\u4f60\u770b\u4e94\u89c0\u9f4b\u5802\uff0c\u6709\u71c8\u5149\uff0c\u5916\u9762\u6709\u592a\u967d\u5149\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u5149\u660e\u3002\u4e0d\u904e\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u7684\u5149\u660e\u662f\u5f9e\u4e0d\u540c\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u4f86\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

We now gather at CTTB for the Amitabha Session. When we recite, \u201cNamo Amitabha Buddha\u201d daily, we are saying that we are willing to take refuge in Amitayus, the Buddha of limitless light and life. Amitabha means great and limitless light. Just like the bright lights that shine in the Five Contemplations Hall, Amitabha\u2019s light is bright and comes from all directions.<\/p>\n

\u73fe\u5728\u662f\u51ac\u81f3\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u8aaa\u967d\u5149\u6700\u5c11\uff0c\u9ed1\u6697\u7684\u665a\u9593\u7684\u6642\u9593\u6700\u9577\u3002\u56e0\u70ba\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5730\u7403\u9019\u6a23\u5b50\u8f49\uff0c\u7136\u5f8c\u53c8\u662f\u7e5e\u8457\u592a\u967d\u3002\u9019\u500b\u6642\u4faf\u662f\u967d\u5149\u6700\u5c11\uff0c\u767d\u5929\u6700\u77ed\uff0c\u9ed1\u6697\u7684\u665a\u9593\u6700\u9577\u7684\u4e00\u500b\u6642\u4faf\u3002\u9019\u500b\u6709\u4ec0\u9ebc\u4f5c\u7528\u5462\uff1f\u4eba\u6c42\u9019\u500b\u5149\u660e\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u90fd\u9700\u8981\u5149\u660e\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u7121\u8ad6\u54ea\u500b\u5b97\u6559\uff0c\u90fd\u662f\u5230\u9019\u500b\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u90fd\u6709\u5149\u660e\u51fa\u4f86\u4e86\u3002\u597d\u50cf\u5370\u5ea6\u6559\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u53ebDeepavali\uff0c\u5149\u660e\u7bc0\uff0cfestivaloflight\u3002\u9084\u6709\u8ab0\u5462\uff1f\u7336\u592a\u6559\uff0cHanukkah\uff0c\u4ed6\u5011\u9ede\u516b\u500b\u881f\u71ed\uff0c\u4e00\u4e8c\u4e09\u56db\u4e94\u516d\u4e03\u516b\uff1b\u6bcf\u5929\u4e00\u652f\uff0c\u9019\u6a23\u5b50\u5462\uff0c\u6709\u5149\u660e\u3002\u9ed1\u4eba\u5462\uff0c\u975e\u6d32\u6709\u4ed6\u5011\u7684\u7bc0\u65e5\u53ebKwanzaa\uff0c\u9019\u4e5f\u662f\u6709\u71c8\u5149\u7684\u95dc\u601d\u3002\u9084\u6709\u4ec0\u9ebc\uff1f\u57fa\u7763\u6559\u3001\u5929\u4e3b\u6559\uff0cChristmas\uff0c\u8056\u8a95\u7bc0\uff0c\u5230\u8655\u90fd\u662f\u5149\u660e\u3002Christmastree\u7684\u71c8\u5149\uff0c\u9084\u6709\u623f\u5b50\u8981\u8cbc\u4e00\u4e9b\u5149\u3002\u4e00\u7785\u661f\u661f\uff0c\u5c31\u77e5\u9053\u8036\u7a4c\u51fa\u751f\uff0c\u90fd\u662f\u5c6c\u65bc\u5149\u3002<\/p>\n

Now being winter, when the earth orbiting around the sun, there is more darkness and less light and day is shorter.\u00a0 Why do I mention this? People like and need sunlight. Likewise, with any religion, there is light. This Sanskrit, this is called, \u201cdeepavili,\u201d the festival of light. This is similar to Hanukkah in Judaism, where they light eight candles, one each day. InAfrica, they have a similar festival called, Kwanzaa; in Christianity, there is Christmas with Christmas trees, and when the light shine, Jesus is born.<\/p>\n

\u4f5b\u6559\u4e5f\u662f\u4e00\u6a23\u7684\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u5149\u660e\u3002\u4ec0\u9ebc\u5149\u5462\uff1f\u7121\u91cf\u5149\uff1b\u53ef\u662f\u4e0d\u540c\u3002\u6709\u4ec0\u9ebc\u4e0d\u540c\u5462\uff1f\u9019\u500b\u5149\uff0c\u4e0d\u662f\u5916\u9762\u7684\u71c8\u5149\u3002\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u662f\u8ab0\u5462\uff1f\u662f\u4e00\u500b\u4eba\u3002\u53ef\u662f\u56e0\u70ba\u6148\u60b2\u7684\u95dc\u4fc2\uff0c\u56e0\u70ba\u9858\u529b\u7684\u95dc\u4fc2\uff0c\u4ed6\u5728\u81ea\u6027\u4e0a\u56de\u5149\u3002\u90a3\u500b\u5b57\u5f88\u91cd\u8981\u2500\u2500\u300c\u56de\u5149\u300d\u3002\u4ed6\u5c31\u628a\u4ed6\u672c\u4f86\u5177\u6709\u7684\u5149\u660e\u6536\u56de\u4f86\u4e86\uff0c\u96c6\u4e2d\u3002\u7136\u5f8c\uff0c\u4ed6\u7684\u7121\u660e\uff0c\u4ed6\u7684\u4e00\u5207\u7684\u8986\u969c\u7684\u6771\u897f\uff0c\u88ab\u7167\u7834\u4e86\u3002\u54e6\uff01\u5c31\u6709\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u51fa\u4f86\u4e86\uff01\u81ea\u6027\u7684\u5149\uff0c\u5c31\u53eb\uff0c\u7167\u5343\u65e5\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u4e00\u5343\u500b\u592a\u967d\u7684\u5149\u4eae\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u7a31\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff0c\u90fd\u662f\u4eba\u6027\u771f\u6b63\u628a\u5b83\u4fee\u6210\u4e86\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u3002\u4f60\u4e5f\u6709\uff0c\u6211\u4e5f\u6709\uff0c\u53ea\u662f\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u5148\u4fee\u6210\u4e86\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u7a31\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u3002<\/p>\n

In Buddhism there is also light\u2014limitless light. This light is different from artificial light. With Amitabha Buddha\u2019s compassion and vows, his emits a reflective light. This light shines through darkness like a thousand suns. Therefore, those who recite Amitabha Buddha\u2019s name will have light. I will have it and you will as well; the only difference between Amitabha Buddha and us is that he has accomplished his cultivation, so he is called, \u201cLimitless light.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u90a3\u6211\u5011\u6bcf\u6b21\u5ff5\u300c\u5357\u7121\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u300d\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u8aaa\u300cNammoAyidaFut\u300d\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u8aaa\u300cNamu AmidaButsu\u300d\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u662f\u300cNamo Amit\u0101bh\u0101ya\u300d\uff1b\u7121\u8ad6\u54ea\u4e00\u500b\u8a9e\u8a00\uff0cNamo Amit\u0101bh\u0101ya\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u8aaa\uff0c\u6211\u7688\u4f9d\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u4f5b\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u6642\u4faf\uff0c\u770b\u5230\u6211\u5011\u7684\u540c\u4e8b\u3001\u670b\u53cb\uff0c\u5c31\u8aaa\u904e\u8056\u8a95\u7bc0\uff0c\u6216\u8005Hanukkah\u4ec0\u9ebc\u7684\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u4f5b\u6559\u4e5f\u53ef\u4ee5\u8aaa\uff0c\u300c\u54ce\uff01\u6211\u660e\u767d\u4e86\uff0c\u795d\u4f60\u653e\u7121\u91cf\u5149\uff0c\u5149\u5149\u4e92\u7167\uff0c\u6c92\u6709\u969c\u7919\u300d\uff1b\u9019\u6a23\u5b50\uff0c\u771f\u7684\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u7684\u610f\u601d\u3002<\/p>\n

So in whatever language we recite Amitabha Buddha, we are saying that we take refuge with the Buddha of Limitless Light. And instead of wishing our friends, \u201cMerry Christmas!\u201d or \u201cHappy Hanukkah,\u201d we can say, \u201cWishing you limitless light!\u201d\u2014light that is reflective and will break all kinds of obstacles. This is the meaning of limitless light.<\/p>\n

\u597d\u4e86\uff0c\u795d\u5404\u4f4d\u958b\u8eca\u56de\u53bb\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u5728\u8eca\u4e0a\u8072\u8072\u90fd\u662f\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\uff0c\u5728\u842c\u4f5b\u6bbf\u88e1\u908a\u53c3\u52a0\u4f5b\u4e03\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u8072\u8072\u90fd\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u3002\u5357\u7121\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff01<\/p>\n

Alright, when you drive back, remember to recite Amitabha Buddha\u2019s name on the ride. And for those who are staying for the whole session, I hope that in your every recitation, there will be light. Amitabha!<\/p>\n

All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, the Venerable Master, all fellow cultivators and friends, today it is my turn to speak Dharma.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u5011\u73fe\u5728\u8d81\u8457\u5f4c\u9640\u4e03\u7684\u6cd5\u6703\uff0c\u8ddf\u5927\u5bb6\u5206\u4eab\u4e00\u4e9b\u51c8\u571f\u7684\u6cd5\u9580\u3002\u5ff5\u4f5b\u4e00\u53e5\u6709\u8aaa\u4e0d\u5b8c\u7684\u610f\u7fa9\uff0c\u53ef\u4ee5\u5229\u76ca\uff0c\u9084\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u7684\u5999\u8655\u3002\u5047\u5982\u4e00\u4eba\u53d7\u6301\u4e00\u4f5b\u7684\u540d\u865f\u2500\u2500\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff0c\u73fe\u4e16\u53ef\u4ee5\u5f97\u5230\u8af8\u4f5b\u795e\u964d\uff0c\u4e8c\u5341\u4e94\u83e9\u85a9\uff1b\u4e43\u81f3\u4e00\u5207\u7684\u83e9\u85a9\u665d\u591c\u5e38\u96a8\u5b88\u8b77\uff0c\u6240\u6709\u7684\u60e1\u90fd\u4e0d\u6703\u5bb3\uff0c\u707d\u96e3\u4e5f\u4e0d\u6703\u53d7\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u61c9\u7576\u5e38\u5e38\u5ff5\u4f5b\u3002\u52a0\u4e0a\u8af8\u4f5b\u4e5f\u6703\u8b77\u5ff5\u6211\u5011\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u4e5f\u5e38\u653e\u5149\u651d\u53d7\u5ff5\u4f5b\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u4ee4\u5ff5\u4f5b\u7684\u4eba\u5fc3\u5e38\u6b61\u559c\uff0c\u7cbe\u6c23\u795e\u5145\u76db\uff0c\u6240\u4f5c\u5409\u7965\uff0c\u666e\u5229\u5927\u773e\u3002\u6700\u5f8c\uff0c\u81e8\u7d42\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u5fc3\u7121\u6016\u754f\uff0c\u6b63\u5ff5\u73fe\u524d\uff0c\u5f97\u898b\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u53ca\u83e9\u85a9\u8056\u773e\uff0c\u4f86\u63a5\u5f15\u6211\u5011\u5230\u897f\u65b9\u6975\u6a02\uff0c\u76e1\u672a\u4f86\u969b\u53d7\u6b8a\u52dd\u7684\u5999\u6a02\uff1b\u9019\u662f\u6211\u5011\u53c3\u52a0\u5ff5\u4f5b\u6700\u91cd\u8981\u7684\u56e0\u7de3\u3002<\/p>\n

Since it is the Amitabha Session, I want to share somePureLandmethods with everyone. Reciting the Buddha\u2019s name has limitless meanings, all which are beneficial and wondrous. If some recites the Amitabha Buddha\u2019s name, in this life, Buddhas, spirits, twenty-five Bodhisattvas, will protect him or her, day and night, so that he or she will not encounter disasters. So we should constantly recite the Buddha\u2019s name. Amitabha Buddha will shine light on those who recite his name, giving them peace, energy and auspiciousness. When that person dies, he or she will not be afraid and will see Amitabha Buddha and all the retinue of Bodhisattvas come to bring him or her to thePureLandwhere he or she will be extremely blissful. Hence, we should participate in this recitation session to increase our conditions to go to thePureLand.<\/p>\n

\u9019\u662f\u6211\u5011\u505a\u672a\u4f86\u7684\u6e96\u5099\u5de5\u4f5c\uff1b\u90a3\u73fe\u5728\u8981\u600e\u9ebc\u505a\u5462\uff1f\u4e0a\u4eba\u7684\u300a\u958b\u793a\u9304\u5341\u4e00\u300b\u63d0\u5230\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u8981\u9020\u4e00\u500b\u6975\u6a02\u4e16\u754c\u3002\u600e\u9ebc\u9020\u5462\uff1f\u9996\u5148\uff0c\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa\u8981\u6c92\u6709\u4e03\u60c5\u3002\u4f55\u8b02\u4e03\u60c5\uff1f\u662f\u559c\u6012\u54c0\u61fc\u611b\u60e1\u6b32\uff1b\u628a\u9019\u4e03\u7a2e\u611f\u60c5\u8abf\u4f0f\u4e86\uff0c\u4ee4\u5b83\u4e0d\u9020\u53cd\uff0c\u9019\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5fc3\u88e1\u592a\u5e73\u7121\u4e8b\uff0c\u4ec0\u9ebc\u75db\u82e6\u7684\u4e8b\u4e5f\u6c92\u6709\u4e86\u3002\u70ba\u4ec0\u9ebc\u6703\u75db\u82e6\u5462\uff1f\u56e0\u70ba\u5fc3\u88e1\u4e0d\u592a\u5e73\uff1b\u82e5\u6c92\u6709\u75db\u82e6\uff0c\u4f46\u53d7\u773e\u6a02\uff0c\u9019\u5c31\u662f\u4eba\u9593\u7684\u6975\u6a02\u4e16\u754c\u3002<\/p>\n

This is all preparation. The Master in Dharma Talks Vol. 1<\/em> mentions that we need to create aPureLand. How is this done? The Master said we have to get rid of our seven emotions. These emotions are: joy, anger, sorrow, fear, love, evil and desire. Once we get rid of these desires, we will be at peace and feel no pain. Why do we feel pain? It is because our minds are not at peace, and once we no longer feel pain and are always in peace, this is thePureLand.<\/p>\n

\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff0c\u68b5\u8a9e\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u58fd\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u3002\u90a3\u58fd\u5c0d\u6211\u5011\u4f86\u8aaa\uff0c\u5c31\u7b97\u662f\u5e7e\u5927\u52ab\uff0c\u9084\u662f\u6709\u500b\u9650\u91cf\uff1b\u4f46\u662f\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u7684\u7121\u91cf\u58fd\uff0c\u4e0d\u662f\u6307\u6709\u9650\u7684\u58fd\u91cf\uff0c\u800c\u662f\u6307\u798f\u5fb7\u7121\u91cf\u3002\u90a3\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u5462\uff0c\u5149\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u65e9\u4e0a\u665a\u4e0a\u5f9e\u5149\u4eae\u5230\u9ed1\u6697\uff1b\u4f46\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u7684\u5149\u662f\u667a\u6167\u7684\u5149\uff0c\u6240\u4ee5\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u7684\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u5df2\u7d93\u4fee\u6210\u4e86\u795e\u901a\u3001\u8faf\u624d\u3001\u76f8\u597d\u3001\u9053\u529b\uff0c\u4e00\u5207\u4e00\u5207\u90fd\u662f\u7121\u91cf\u7121\u908a\u8de1\u7684\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u548c\u8af8\u4f5b\u7121\u6240\u4e0d\u5728\uff0c\u7121\u5728\u7121\u4e0d\u5728\u3002<\/p>\n

Amitabha Buddha in Sanskrit means, \u201climitless light and life.\u201d His lifespan is limitless, which refers to limitless virtue and blessings. His limitless light refers to his wisdom light. This is why Amitabha, in limitless ways, perfected spiritual powers, eloquence, interactions with living beings and the Way. Therefore, he and other Buddhas are here and are also everywhere.<\/p>\n

\u4ec0\u9ebc\u662f\u7121\u6240\u4e0d\u5728\uff0c\u7121\u5728\u7121\u4e0d\u5728\u5462\uff1f\u300a\u516d\u7956\u58c7\u7d93\u300b\u8aaa\u5230\uff0c\u4e00\u5207\u773e\u751f\u6709\u5169\u500b\u8eab\u3002\u7b2c\u4e00\uff0c\u6cd5\u8eab\uff0c\u6216\u8005\u53eb\u81ea\u6027\uff1b\u7b2c\u4e8c\u662f\u8272\u8eab\u3002\u8272\u8eab\u662f\u6709\u5f62\u6709\u76f8\u7684\uff0c\u7121\u5e38\u7684\uff0c\u6703\u8b8a\u7684\uff0c\u6703\u6557\u58de\uff1b\u6cd5\u8eab\u5462\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u81ea\u6027\u5c31\u662f\u7121\u6240\u4e0d\u5728\uff0c\u7121\u5728\u7121\u4e0d\u5728\u7684\u3002\u5c31\u597d\u50cf\u6628\u5929\u665a\u4e0a\u6cd5\u5e2b\u8aaa\uff0c\u5ff5\u4f5b\u53ef\u4ee5\u56de\u5230\u6211\u5011\u81ea\u6027\u7684\u7121\u91cf\u58fd\u7121\u91cf\u5149\uff1b\u90a3\u81ea\u6027\u5c31\u662f\u6211\u5011\u4eba\u4eba\u4e43\u81f3\u773e\u751f\u672c\u5177\u6709\u7684\u6cd5\u8eab\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\uff0c\u91cb\u8fe6\u6469\u5c3c\u4f5b\u5728\u83e9\u63d0\u6a39\u4e0b\u79aa\u5750\u56db\u5341\u4e5d\u5929\u5f8c\u609f\u9053\uff0c\u8aaa\uff0c\u300c\u5947\u54c9\u5947\u54c9\uff01\u5927\u5730\u773e\u751f\u7686\u6709\u4f5b\u6027\uff0c\u53ea\u56e0\u5984\u60f3\u57f7\u8457\u4e0d\u80fd\u8b49\u5f97\u3002\u300d<\/p>\n

What does this mean? In the Six Patriarch Sutra<\/em>, it says that living beings have two bodies: one is their dharma body\u2014also called \u201coriginal nature\u201d\u2014the other, the image body. The image body is impermanent and subject to change and decay, while the dharma body is pervasive. Last night the Master said that reciting the Buddha\u2019s name helps us return to our dharma body, our original nature that has limitless light and life. So when Shakyamuni Buddha meditated under the Bodhi tree for forty-nine days and gained enlightenment, he said, \u201cStrange indeed, strange indeed! All living beings have the Buddha nature, but due to thoughts and attachments, they cannot attain it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u51c8\u571f\u6709\u5341\u5ff5\u6cd5\uff0c\u8aaa\u4f60\u4e00\u53e3\u6c23\u5ff5\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e8c\u53e3\u6c23\u4e43\u81f3\u5341\u5ff5\uff0c\u5fc5\u5b9a\u6703\u6295\u751f\u6975\u6a02\u4e16\u754c\u3002\u300a\u83ef\u56b4\u7d93\u300b\u3008\u5341\u7121\u76e1\u85cf\u54c1\u3009\u88e1\u982d\uff0c\u6709\u4e00\u4f4d\u83e9\u85a9\u5c08\u4fee\u5341\u5ff5\u6cd5\uff0c\u90a3\u662f\u5ff5\u85cf\u83e9\u85a9\u3002\u53e6\u5916\u4e00\u4f4d\u83e9\u85a9\u5c08\u4fee\u4fee\u6301\u6cd5\uff0c\u53eb\u6301\u85cf\u3002\u300a\u83ef\u56b4\u7d93\u300b\u7684\u5341\u5ff5\u6cd5\u662f\u4ec0\u9ebc\u5462\uff1f\u5c31\u662f\u7b2c\u4e00\u8981\u5bc2\u975c\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e8c\u8981\u6e05\u51c8\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e09\u4e0d\u6fc1\uff0c\u7b2c\u56db\u660e\u5fb9\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e94\u96e2\u5875\uff0c\u7b2c\u516d\u7a2e\u7a2e\u5875\u5ff5\u6216\u8005\u5984\u60f3\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e03\u96e2\u57a2\uff0c\u7b2c\u516b\u5149\u8000\uff0c\u7b2c\u4e5d\u53ef\u611b\u6a02\u4e4b\u5ff5\uff0c\u7b2c\u5341\u7121\u969c\u7919\u5ff5\uff0c\u7121\u969c\u7919\u5ac9\u5992\uff1b\u9019\u4e9b\u83e9\u85a9\u90fd\u8b49\u5f97\u91cd\u91cd\u7121\u76e1\uff0c\u7121\u76e1\u7aae\u7aae\uff0c\u4e8b\u7406\u7121\u7919\u7684\u5883\u754c\u3002\u6545\u6211\u5011\u5ff5\u4f5b\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u4e5f\u8981\u5b78\u7fd2\u9019\u5169\u4f4d\u83e9\u85a9\u3002\u6301\u85cf\u83e9\u85a9\uff0c\u662f\u6301\u8af8\u4f5b\u6240\u8aaa\u7684\u4fee\u591a\u7f85\u6cd5\uff0c\u5c31\u662f\u85cf\u7d93\uff0c\u6587\u53e5\u7fa9\u7406\u6c92\u6709\u5fd8\u5931\u7684\u3002\u4ed6\u7684\u529b\u91cf\u53ef\u4ee5\u4e00\u8072\u6301\u4e0d\u53ef\u8aaa\u4e0d\u53ef\u8aaa\u7684\u4f5b\u540d\u865f\uff1b\u4ed6\u7684\u6642\u9593\u53ef\u4ee5\u6301\u4e00\u52ab\uff0c\u4e43\u81f3\u4e0d\u53ef\u8aaa\u4e0d\u53ef\u8aaa\u52ab\u7684\u4f5b\u865f\u3002\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u5011\u53ef\u4ee5\u770b\uff0c\u300a\u83ef\u56b4\u7d93\u300b\u88e1\u982d\u7684\u83e9\u85a9\u7684\u8010\u529b\u662f\u591a\u9ebc\u7684\u7121\u76e1\uff01<\/p>\n

The PureLandSchoolhas ten ways of reciting that guarantee rebirth in the PureLand. You need to recite Amitabha Buddha\u2019s name and then with another breath, you recite his name ten times. In the Avatamsaka Sutra<\/em>\u2019s Chapter on Ten limitless Treasures, it mentions the Bodhisattva Mindful of Treasures who cultivated this recitation method, and another Bodhisattva, Upholding Treasures, who specialized in upholding dharmas. What are the ten recitations methods mentioned in the Avatamsaka Sutra<\/em>? They are: silence, purity, unsoiled, clear, being apart from dust, from false thoughts, and apart from filth, having brightness, happy thoughts and no afflictions or jealousy. These Bodhisattvas perfected these methods and have no obstructions. People who recite the Buddha\u2019s name should learn from these Bodhisattvas. Mindful of Treasuries Bodhisattva upholds each and every word all the Dharmas that Buddhas speak. When he recites the Buddha\u2019s name, he can be mindful for a lifetime, so we can see how much patience this Bodhisattva has!<\/p>\n

\u6700\u5f8c\u6211\u5011\u53ef\u4ee5\u7814\u7a76\u7121\u91cf\u548c\u7121\uff0c\u56e0\u70ba\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa\uff0c\u7121\u91cf\u5176\u5be6\u662f\u6c92\u6709\uff0c\u662f\u7121\u3002\u8981\u662f\u6211\u5011\u53ef\u4ee5\u4e86\u89e3\u7121\u91cf\u7684\u8a71\uff0c\u90a3\u6211\u5011\u5c31\u4e0d\u6703\u8caa\uff0c\u7576\u7136\u6240\u6709\u7684\u7fd2\u6c23\u5c31\u6c92\u4e86\uff1b\u8981\u662f\u80fd\u5920\u4e86\u89e3\u90fd\u662f\u6c92\u6709\u7684\uff0c\u90fd\u662f\u7a7a\u7684\uff0c\u90a3\u5c31\u4e0d\u6703\u57f7\u8457\u3002<\/p>\n

Finally, let\u2019s discuss the concept of \u201climitless and no light.\u201d The Master said that limitless light actually means no light at all. If we understand this, we won\u2019t be greedy or have any more anger. If we can truly understand this, we would let go of all attachments and everything would be empty.<\/p>\n

\u73fe\u5728\u8ddf\u5927\u5bb6\u5206\u4eab\u4e0a\u4eba\u667a\u6167\u7684\u6cd5\u8a9e\u3002\u4e0a\u4eba\u8aaa\uff1a\u300c\u6240\u6709\u7684\u773e\u751f\u90fd\u662f\u6211\u7684\u5bb6\u4eba\uff0c\u5b87\u5b99\u662f\u6211\u7684\u8eab\u9ad4\uff0c\u865b\u7a7a\u662f\u6211\u7684\u5927\u5b78\uff0c\u6148\u60b2\u559c\u6368\u662f\u6211\u7684\u529f\u7528\uff1b\u6211\u7684\u540d\u5b57\u4e86\u7121\u5f62\u76f8\u3002\u300d\u6240\u4ee5\u6211\u60f3\uff0c\u5927\u5bb6\u53ef\u4ee5\u9664\u4e86\u5e38\u5ff5\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff0c\u4e5f\u5e38\u5ff5\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5ba3\u516c\u4e0a\u4eba\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u5927\u5bb6\u7684\u5bb6\u9577\u3002\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff01<\/p>\n

The Master once said, \u201cAll beings are my family; the universe, my body; empty space, my university; emotions, my functions. My name has no image.\u201d Thus, we should be mindful of reciting the Buddha\u2019s name as well as being mindful of our Master, our parent. Amitabha!<\/p>\n

\u6211\u5011\u4eca\u5929\uff0c\u5927\u5bb6\u5171\u805a\u4e00\u5802\uff0c\u6176\u795d\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5927\u6148\u60b2\u7236\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u7684\u8056\u8a95\u3002\u6211\u5011\u90fd\u77e5\u9053\uff0c\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u6b77\u7d93\u6578\u52ab\u8271\u82e6\u7684\u4fee\u884c\uff0c\u624d\u6210\u5c31\u4e86\u7121\u4e0a\u7684\u4f5b\u679c\u3002<\/p>\n

Today, we gather together to celebrate our compassionate father, Amitabha Buddha. We all know that Amitabha Buddha cultivated vigorously in order to accomplish Buddhahood.<\/p>\n

\u96d6\u7136\u4ed6\u904e\u53bb\u5982\u6b64\u7cbe\u9032\u5730\u4fee\u884c\uff0c\u4ed6\u4f9d\u7136\u906d\u9047\u5230\u8a31\u591a\u4eba\u3001\u4e8b\u3001\u7269\u7684\u7a2e\u7a2e\u56f0\u96e3\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u6211\u5011\u5728\u65e5\u5e38\u751f\u6d3b\u4e2d\u6703\u9762\u81e8\u7684\u4e00\u4e9b\u554f\u984c\u4e00\u6a23\u3002\u4f46\u662f\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\uff0c\u7e3d\u662f\u9078\u64c7\u53bb\u770b\u4eba\u3001\u4e8b\u3001\u7269\u7684\u5149\u660e\u7684\u4e00\u9762\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u4ed6\u6539\u8b8a\u4e86\u4ed6\u7684\u547d\u904b\uff0c\u6210\u5c31\u4e86\u7121\u4e0a\u5149\u660e\u7684\u4f5b\u679c\u53ca\u7121\u91cf\u5149\u7684\u8056\u865f\u3002<\/p>\n

Although he was so vigorous, he still encountered many difficult people and situations, similar to the issues we have daily. However, Amitabha Buddha chose to see the bright side of these situations, changed his life and accomplished Buddhahood with the name, Limitless Light.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u5011\u5ff5\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u7684\u8056\u865f\uff0c\u5c31\u50cf\u525b\u525b\u6cd5\u5e2b\u8b1b\u7684\uff0c\u6703\u5f97\u5230\u7a2e\u7a2e\u7684\u5229\u76ca\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u5f80\u751f\u897f\u65b9\u6975\u6a02\u51c8\u571f\u3002\u540c\u6642\u6211\u5011\u4e5f\u53ef\u4ee5\u5b78\u7fd2\u50cf\u963f\u5f4c\u9640\u4f5b\u4e00\u6a23\uff0c\u4f86\u770b\u7a2e\u7a2e\u7684\u4eba\u3001\u4e8b\u3001\u7269\u7684\u5149\u660e\u9762\u3002\u8b6c\u5982\u8aaa\uff0c\u6bcf\u5929\u65e9\u6668\u6211\u5011\u9192\u4f86\u7684\u6642\u5019\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u53ef\u4ee5\u60f3\u8457\uff0c\u7576\u5929\u751f\u6d3b\u4e2d\u53ef\u80fd\u6703\u767c\u751f\u7684\u7f8e\u597d\u4e8b\u60c5\u3002\u7136\u5f8c\u6211\u5011\u52a0\u4ee5\u95dc\u6ce8\u5728\u9019\u4e9b\u7f8e\u597d\u7684\u4e8b\u60c5\u4e0a\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u6703\u767c\u73fe\uff0c\u6211\u5011\u7d93\u5e38\u6703\u5fc3\u60f3\u4e8b\u6210\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

Just as the previous Dharma Master mentioned, when we recite Amitabha Buddha\u2019s name, we will receive all kinds of benefits and can gain rebirth in thePureLand. We can also learn from Amitabha Buddha and look at the bright sides of things. For example, every morning when we wake up, we can think of pleasant things that might occur that day. Then we can focus on these pleasant things happen, and before we know it, everything is well.<\/p>\n

\u6211\u5011\u4e5f\u53ef\u4ee5\u8a66\u8457\u554f\u81ea\u5df1\u9019\u500b\u554f\u984c\uff0c\u4ec0\u9ebc\u662f\u5927\u5bb6\u90fd\u60f3\u8981\u7684\uff0c\u800c\u6211\u537b\u5df2\u7d93\u64c1\u6709\u7684\uff1f\u9019\u500b\u7b54\u6848\u53ef\u80fd\u662f\u60a8\u7684\u624d\u83ef\uff0c\u60a8\u7684\u5065\u5eb7\uff0c\u60a8\u7684\u5bb6\u5ead\uff0c\u6216\u662f\u60a8\u7684\u4e8b\u696d\uff1b\u4e43\u81f3\u60a8\u7576\u4e0b\u5feb\u6a02\u7684\u5fc3\u60c5\u7b49\u7b49\u3002\u8acb\u4e0d\u8981\u7fa8\u6155\u6216\u5ac9\u5992\u4ed6\u4eba\uff1b\u56e0\u70ba\u7fa8\u6155\u6216\u5ac9\u5992\u4ed6\u4eba\uff0c\u662f\u6d6a\u8cbb\u6211\u5011\u5bf6\u8cb4\u7684\u6642\u9593\u548c\u7cbe\u529b\uff0c\u4f86\u6578\u5225\u4eba\u7684\u5e78\u798f\uff0c\u800c\u4e0d\u662f\u6211\u5011\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u3002<\/p>\n

We think about what other people need and what do we already have. This could refer to one\u2019s talent, health, family, business or one\u2019s peaceful mind. We should not envy or be jealous of people, because that\u2019s just wasting our precious time and energy; instead of counting other people\u2019s blessing, we should count our own.<\/p>\n

\u5982\u679c\u4f60\u89ba\u5f97\u4f60\u4eca\u5e74\u5f88\u4e0d\u5e78\uff0c\u56e0\u70ba\u4f60\u6c92\u6709\u591a\u9918\u7684\u9322\u4f86\u8cb7\u8056\u8a95\u79ae\u7269\u3002\u4f60\u53ef\u4ee5\u8a66\u8457\u8d0a\u7f8e\u4f60\u81ea\u5df1\uff1a\u300c\u90a3\u771f\u662f\u592a\u597d\u4e86\uff0c\u6211\u53ef\u4ee5\u85c9\u9019\u500b\u6a5f\u6703\u767c\u63ee\u6211\u7684\u5275\u9020\u529b\uff0c\u4f86\u505a\u51fa\u4e00\u4e9b\u4ee4\u4eba\u96e3\u5fd8\u7684\u79ae\u7269\u3002\u300d\u6211\u6240\u505a\u7684\u79ae\u7269\u662f\u7279\u6b8a\uff0c\u800c\u5177\u6709\u500b\u4eba\u610f\u7fa9\u7684\uff0c\u4e0d\u9700\u8981\u53bb\u8cb7\u5916\u9762\u4e00\u822c\u6beb\u7121\u7279\u6027\u7684\u666e\u901a\u7684\u79ae\u54c1\u3002<\/p>\n

If you think you are unlucky every year\u2014because you don\u2019t have enough money for Christmas presents\u2014you can try saying this: \u201cActually no having enough money is a good thing. I can think of ways to create memorable presents for everyone. My present will be meaningful and genuine.\u201d<\/p>\n
